Registering players for CL

Hey fellow SC'ers
Am I right in thinking that you have to register your playing squad for the CL by a certain date? I thought that we might have to do all our transfer dealings early which would also benefit us in pre season as the squad would have more time together before the start of the league program. We always leave our transfer dealings to the last minute just to save a few quid or gain some extra (when selling). I just think it would be great to get the squad together early so that everyone know the plan and is drilled correctly.

I would personally like us to shut up shop before the WC starts.

List A has to be submitted by the following fixed deadlines:
a) 21 June 2010 (24.00 CET) for all matches in the first qualifying round;
b) 8 July 2010 (24.00 CET) for all matches in the second qualifying round;
c) 22 July 2010 (24.00 CET) for all matches in the third qualifying round;
d) 9 August 2010 (24.00 CET) for all matches in the play-offs;
e) 1 September 2010 (24.00 CET) for all further matches from the first match in the group stage up to and including the final.

Thanks Garm
It doesn't look as though we have to strengthen as early as I would of liked but you never know, Harry might get it done sooner than usual. Anyway, thanks for replying with the info

The important fact is that we have only about 10 days of the window left after we find out whether we've made it to the group stage.

So if we are going to spend big on, for example, a striker we need to bite the bullet and go for it early or we're likely to find ourselves scrambling in the last few days

I'd say we go for it early, that striker may come in handy in the play-offs. Now that we've finally achieved CL football, I really hope we don't mess around on the last day panic buying.

I think this season we may have a better chance of getting our first choice players. This hopefully means that we can then get them in quick and have a settled squad before the CL qualifying round.

Would be good to have a settled squad in time for the latter part of the pre-season friendlies so Harry can get a settled shape for the team for the playoff games.
