Had confirmation that Sam Cox and Chace O'Neill have been released. I'm sure there are others but those are the only names I know for sure at present.

Cox has had a trial at Leyton Orient, O'Neill has been on trial at Stevenage Borough and also Coskum Ekim has had a trial at Southend so I imagine he's going to be released as well.

Thanks for the update Jon. As someone who is interested in following our Academy players progress I always find your reports informative. Keep up the good work.

Whenever I've seen the 18's (rare) I've always thought Sam Cox was a player with potential. Not one of the ones usually mentioned, but he had something about him, thought he was one of our best players the evening Arsenal beat us in the FA Youth cup season before last...

That's the nature of things though, 99% will get released, the lucky 1% get to stay...

Wish the club would inform us about players being released on the official site.
Same happened last year when Kasim just disappeared without a trace,
despite being one of our highest rated youngsters.

Kasim chose to leave so wasn't really released.
Sam Cox is a lovely lad and a decent player such a shame he is being released but I hope he goes on and finds a club.

When i saw Sam Cox i thought he was crap and actually got into a debate with someone on this forum who said i shouldn't write players off after only seeing them play couple of games.....so it look's like i was right:roll:

I also said that Bostock and Parratt are not as good as people were raving about and the only young player at Spurs who has a chance is Caulker.

Bostock and Parrett are only 18 and they've looked pretty good every time I've seen them. I'm sure the expectations are that they're not able to play regularly in the first team just yet - we just need to give them time.

Agree with you that Caulker stands out though - it's possibly because he's got all of the physical attributes that some of the other players haven't developed as yet.

Maybe if they got the oppurtunity you might change your mind.
Steven Caulker is a quality player who has had the opertunity to show case his talent. Well done caulks.
Bostock,Parrett,Townsend and Caulker are with England U19's and play tomorrow at 11am.
Good luck to the lads another England team full of Spurs players

A game of opinions.

Kasim was on trial at Palace towards the end of last season. Not sure if he was offered a contract though.

Kasim actually quit because of the internal politics at the academy. In particular he objected to the preferential treatment of the bought-in trainees, especially Rose, over some of the more talented 'home-grown' ones.

Kasim has been playing for Sheff Utd and then Palace reserves this past season.

Shame really as to be honest he didn't miss many games to take that action and to be fair to Rose he needed to get fit after a long lay off to to a broken leg.
