@TommyGee I don't understand the 'optimistic' rating! Don't you think we could get this kid? Or do feel Walker is better? I've seen more examples of intelligence and technical ability in that video of him than I've seen in the whole of Walker's career at Spurs!

The last 2 words are what swung me; 'bargain' and 'upgrade'.

I know the general consensus here since Walker has been linked away has lowered his stocks a long way down. It's the old Liverpool transfer mentality of "never wanted him anyway" to soften the blow if he does end up moving on.

In reality though, Walker is the reigning RB in the PFA Team of the Season. He should have been back-to-back from last season too. To suggest an untried Pereira would be an instant upgrade is a little optimistic in my opinion.

I agree with you though, he does look very good. Which is why I think it's a little optimistic again to think he'll be a bargain buy. If he becomes available there'll be a lot of interest, at least £20M I'd imagine.

This would be a great signing, stop worrying about trips and kwp, we need a squad and he would fit in perfect with walker going. in fact I think he is better than walker!

Firstly I'm not trying to 'soften the blow' as you put it, Walker has been great for us and has improved exponentially since the arrival of Poch, but it looks as though he wants to move on, for whatever reason and my observations of Pereira from that video indicate to me that he has far more technical and cranial ability on the pitch than Walker ever will, imo Walker has reached his ceiling, whereas Poch could still improve Pereira.

He reportedly has a €25m (~£22m) release clause, in this market that could come to be seen as a bargain but only if he really performs to a high standard.

I would trust Poch 100% to make this boy a far superior player to Walker.

In today's market £22m doesn't seem excessive.

Funnily enough I think he'd also be a replacement for Sissoko as well as Walker. He looks like someone who you could also bring on to close out a game out wide. That's been the only real use for Sissoko, but this guy has talent too it seems.

If true, get it done asap. Easier said than done I'm sure but would be lovely to get things done early. As a few people have commented though, I think we'll hold out until we announce Nike

Possibly, but you can always announce the signings and unveil them later when the kits are out.

Was quite conflicted with this link tbh. Is this guy good enough? Can he do it on a cold, wet Wednesday? Will Dele be jealous of his lascivious lusophonic locutions with Dier? But then I saw this and I knew it had all the makings of a perfect transfer.

My seven-year-old has become quite the connoisseur of checking out our transfer targets on YouTube. He burst out laughing the other day, then said "Dad, there's a 'welcome to Liverpool video'. Is there a player they haven't got one for?"

Ironically he looks very similar to KWP in his movement but faster .if he comes I think eventually trippier will be the next to move on after walker .could be crazy that in couple years we could have 2 better RB than we have now ,when both are in England squad .

According to online sources, his body weight is already well aligned with Pochettino's requirements, who I suspect has very strict rules for these kinds of things.

Who would have thought, say 3years ago, we would be talking about a young Nice player on loan from Porto, being a bargain replacement for Walker at £22m!

It does look like we could sign this guy and Lemar for the money we will get for Walker & Bentaleb (I suspect with little difference in overall wage, Lemar being on roughly what Walker would be on if he stayed, and Pereira around Bentalebs level). Those two cost us (what?) £4m and look like bringing in £65m!

Liked the video.
Obviously he would/may need a bedding in period but get him in and a full preseason and I think he would be an
astute signing, adding Sessegnon on the left and we have some serious pace..
Not getting rid of Rose, just adding these two!

Providing we get this guy, if we could sell Walker for 50m plus then all things considered that is not too bad.
