Why would you dislike what I said about Malignaggi? Seemed a pretty logical conclusion to me. Was well known that the plan was for Hatton to challenge Paulie after Senchenko. Paulie had been holding off on making any other fights in the hope of getting Ricky next. Would have been big money for him, and winnable. No other fights fall into that category for him right now.

Edit: oops, see you have switched it to agree now. Ok!
Calm down. I meant to say Agree and hit dislike in error

Fight fight fight!

Just hope Ricky doesn't do anything silly now.

Yeah he very much needs to do what he said he'd do if he lost. Needs to go into training and leave it at that.

He's like the Tim Henman of boxing. He was a very very good boxer but not quite at the top of his game. Absolutely no disgrace in that and he had some fantastic moments.

He needs to end it now and carry on contributing to the sport.

Gotta worry for Ricky's mental health. If he felt suicidal over knockout losses to Pacquiao and Mayweather how is he going to feel about that one?

He's starting to remind me a bit of Gazza these days sadly.

Although he lost, I think he did better than I expected. He fought a very tough opponent, and won the 1st half of the fight. Hatton should have given himself more of a chance by fighting some lower spec fighters first.

Having said that, I noticed in the build up that hat ton seemed to have a lot of black eyes from sparring. Not a good sign. I don't remember that happening with tyson!

No hasty decisions he said. Well that lasted all of half an hour. Just announced his retirement again. It'll be permanent this time I'd imagine.

Should never have comeback...Three years was too long out of the ring at his age. Glad he has retired as was concerned he was going to carry on after his initial post fight interview.

One thing that can't of been helpful was his girlfriend from pretty much the first round till he was stopped in the 9th round she was an emotional reck ring side.

that was pretty sad . . I think he still may try another comeback after this. Even with the 3 year lay off i thought he could just about pull it off against senchenko - he is as feather fisted as Paulie. . And managed to get KO'd by pauli . . . . . He couldnt have picked an easier opponent to be fair

Senchenko was a world champion at the beginning of the year and only ever lost one fight. Lots of much easier opponents he could have picked.

Foreman fought at an extremely low level for the 1st couple of years of his comeback and built his way back to a world title.

For a 3 year lay-off Hatton picked a very difficult opponent. A jabber like Senchenko will knock you out if you leave yourself as open as Hatton did.

I'm glad Hatton chose a difficult opponent. Despite news reports to the contrary he didn't look great. Losing only sped up the sad reality that he is done.

Hatton now really needs to find something in his life to replace boxing. Whether rich or poor many people struggle mentally to cope with retirement.
