Putting this in this section because a true Spurs supporter who some of you may have known passed away in his sleep last night. He was only in his early 40s, a devoted family man with a young son and daughter he idolised and he was also a highly regarded cricket and football coach in and around Woking, where he lived.

He will get a mention in the programme and a message on the screens at the next home game. He was much loved and respected. I only knew him from FB for a while but can honestly say he was a wonderfully positive family man with a heart of gold who loved Spurs and sport generally and rarely missed a game.

His death has come as a huge shock to so many. I have never seen so many messages of condolence for one individual on FB before and the tributes are still pouring in. RIP to a true Spurs man. He will be missed by many.

Not heard of him @CosmicHotspur but you make him sound like I wish had known him. So young & with a young family left behind. Breaks your heart. RIP Mr Hearne Lane

With his son William, a promising young goalkeeper. His daughter Chloe is a really bright girl doing excellently at school. Supportive and loving, he was always full of praise for them both for their achievements. These kids have lost a wonderful dad, so very sad.

Always sad to see a parent pass away in such a (relatively) young age.
RIP

Immensely sad for his family – but especially for the children.

It's pretty terrible to lose a parent at any age, but when you're still a young child it must be devastating.

Good luck to them, and the rest of his family.

Goodbye, Dave.

I know this is a nice thread with good intentions but do you think you should be posting pics of this fellas lad on here?

If there are objections from Admin, of course I will delete it. It has been posted on FB as have many of him and his children and I have said I've copied it for SC with no objections. I think it shows what a happy relationship existed between father and son.

He belonged to a lot of Spurs groups and many photos like this have been shown on them. I also thought there might be SC members who recognised Dave from this photo.

Tragic for anyone to pass, but at such a young age, terrible news.

Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.

The family don't have a problem with the posting of that photo David was proud of his children and wanted the whole world to know. Thank you so much for all these comments and posts you don't know how much this means to us wwords cannot describe how loved he was. Thank you all for the support it means so much so thanks my uncle would have been so proud and his ego would have loved it.
