He played in Spurs colours until 1958 and I vaguely remember seeing him play when my dad took me to the Lane when I was quite young.

A great Spurs player who sadly died on Christmas Day. RIP.

Thats a name that takes me back Cosmic', I was only two when he retired but my family always spoke of him, George Robb, Tommy Harmer & Jonny Brooks were family favouites.
And so another little piece of our history passes.

Tommy Harmer died on Christmas Day too, in 2007. I saw him and Johnny Brooks some years ago at a party. Johnny is 80 now.

Rest in peace George. His name has cropped up on many occasions during my Father's recollections of the good old days.

Remember him regularly running the line in school matches on Saturday mornings when our school played against Finchley. This was during the mid fifties just after he had got his single cap.
Insisted on being addressed as 'Mr.Robb' and not 'George' when being asked for autographs. Quite right too.
Seemed like a very unassuming, dedicated man.
As Spurs fan I was much too overawed to approach him for his autograph.
Amatuers playing at the top level and combining a proffessional career.
Those were the days.
Another link with the past gone. RIP Mr.Robb

One of my favourite players in the early 50s. He played in the first Spurs game I was taken to as a 4 year old in 1951. He was part of the legendary push and run team that featured the likes of Ramsey, Nicholson, Baily, Burgess, Ditchburn, Duquemin, Withers, Clarke and Walters.

Another link to the past goes. RIP George. Thanks for the memories.
