Genuine World Class Keeper. Liverpool legend that we signed in 81. He was brilliant for us in the same way Pat was still great when we made the mistake of selling him too early. He always came across as a true gentlemen. In most other eras he would have had 100 plus caps for England but he used to share it with Shilton. Really sad news. RIP Ray and condolences to his family.

RIP Ray. In goal the first time I ever saw Spurs. Was my default thought of what a keeper should be. Thought with Stephen and the family.

Top man, top Keeper

Lucky enough to meet him once when he was still playing for Liverpool and we had Big Pat in goal

like all keepers I remember him for a couple of mistakes but he was a steady hand in a very good side - the great thing about his keeping was he never looked ruffled and he exuded confidence to the defenders in front of him - very sad

Terrible. Was a member at the same golf club and always such a really nice guy. Used to get his grandson to carry his clubs for him. Very popular with everyone.

RIP Ray, along with Big Pat Jennings and Ted Ditchburn one of our greatest ever keepers.

Ted was before my time but had the pleasure of watching Pat and Ray.
