Because Sclupp looked 5 times as dangerous? Even for them with his unfortunate own goal :)

Genuinely fast and a real handful. Trouble is he doesn't score that many goals.

So he isn't someone we should be interested in despite suggestions that we are ?

Dead right - Mahrez didn't start yesterday and yet Schlupp did and gave us problems. I would therefore prefer Schlupp based on this. Mahrez came on later on. I was genuinely waiting to see what the guy was like as it was me who picked up on this press story in the first place. Based upon what I saw of the game yesterday (was there) Schlupp looked far more dangerous, was faster and was more potent than Mahrez.

So yes, based on that alone I would prefer Schlupp to Mahrez, but then I know nothing as most will tell you. Maybe he was a dormant, stealth or secret weapon waiting to explode from the bench? He didn't though.

I've actually been impressed with Schlupp all season. As I maintain we still need more help on the left as we for rally have any genuine winger for that side, I'd prefer Schlupp for that reasoning as well. Also helps he counts as homegrown.

The only reason we've been linked with Mahrez is because he played very well against us the last time we played Leicester. Does his form over the whole season suggest that he's our best option or even that he's ready for a top 7 team? Not a chance.

I also think that because he's Algerian and a teammate of Bentalebs in the national side that's another reason we're being linked.

We could see even more Algerians being linked if we pick up Islam Slimani, which I'm hoping we will.

Schulpp has never had more than 1 assist in the league in a season. In fact he has 6 assists in 108 games (all comps) total for Leicester.

Oh I'm not saying he'd be top of my list, but I'm saying if we were to poach a cheap option off Leicester when they face the drop that I'd prefer Schlupp to Mahrez.

Frankly just glad to hear we're looking at several guys in the Eredivisie (although I'm not particularly fond of us looking at Kishna, as I think we could run into the same problems with Chadli where his size and power allows him to get away with things in that league and look quicker, but against the quicker and more disciplined Prem defenders he loses his advantage). Would ideally love to see us pick up a younger prospect such as one of these guys from Holland, and then one of the more experienced players available for free in Ayew or Kono (I suspect we'd choose Ayew and I do think that we made contact at some point).
