Paul Robinson has replaced the injured Scott Carson in the England squad to face France, while Jermain Defoe and Shaun Wright-Phillips are among the players to have been left out.

Good news for Robbo, but why has Capello droped Defoe?

Thought he was the most in form striker in the Premiership. Isn't Walcot still in the squad :bang:

This is General Football. I was purely speculating over the squad. I've never been a big Defoe fan.

Theo Walcot has done nothing to be in the England squad.

I am not surprised that Defoe has been dropped from the squad. If Capello is looking at playing with just one upfront then it makes perfect sense not to have Defoe in the squad.

I saw Kirkland make an awful flap at the weekend (ooh he had a bad back :violin and nothing was really made of it, Robinson would have made the headlines. Let him play all the games for England........who cares....as long as we get a decent keeper to Spurs in the summer. :up:
