Mark Lawrenson:

I know some will point to the splurge from Tottenham after they sold Gareth Bale last summer as cause for concern but Liverpool’s situation is different.

We’ve signed four so far and yes seven or eight in total will change the dynamic of the dressing room so that is something to be wary about.

But Spurs just went on a spending spree.

There was no definitive plan, no idea of who was going to play in what a position and they just signed players to try and replace Bale.

Liverpool are different.

Brendan has implemented a definitive style of play and the squad was so good last year that he won’t sign players for the sake of it.

Every single player brought in will have an assigned role and there is still plenty of time for Brendan to get the right players for the Reds.

:cautious:... ... bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

wow. I'm shocked they have pressed the button so early, surely they will have someone lined up.

I mean no club would so stupid and badly run that they would sack the manager during the season without having anyone lined up?

Surely...

Can someone with nothing better to do find out how often we've played against a team with a new manager.
I can't be arsed and it may be just in my mind but it seems like this happens to us all the time.
Maybe a few weeks after they've sacked.
It'll be Chelsea next lol.
Will prob be Villa too before we play them next month :bag:

Leaving aside the question of who might replace him, this is a great occasion.

I've never disliked a manager as much as Brenton. Utterly deluded and seemed to buy into the myth that he was the next Bill Shankly. Harped on about his 'outstanding' tactics, and arrogantly assumed he could handle big egos like Balotelli and Sterling. His comments about Southampton and us were snide, unprofessional, and destined to come back to haunt him. A more self-aware person would have understood that, and remained more diplomatic.

Yes Liverpool might benefit from bringing in a decent manager, but for now I'm just going to picture the smile being wiped off his smug, shark-like mug as he got given the news.

Hopefully the owners handed him his P45 in an envelope whilst saying "in here is the name of someone who let this club down".

Colossal twat.

The Fenway group have really made a mess of this.. They should have sacked Rodgers in the summer instead they kept him and backed him and brought in new back room staff. Now i assume they are going to have to sack the backroom staff and back a new manager again.

No doubt he'll wait for the Southampton job to become available, since he loves their players so much.

Have to laugh.

On another note...I wonder if Newcastle will sack Mclaren and go for Brenton straight away.

I personally hope they stuck a knife in his kidney and left him bleeding out in the gutter.

This is probably about getting Klopp before Chelsea come calling.

How many Pool players will be gone on the International break? Maybe there is no time to adjust to a new manager...
