Interesting to see what offers come in. I could be wrong but I thought the manager at the club he was on loan for spoke very highly of him.

We might not get much for him, but we definitely need to sell him.

Spoke highly of him but never played him. Strange how Mourinho and Conte barely gave him a chance. Thouhght he looked decent when playing for Wales. Must be able to get our money back for him
only 11m wasn’t it

I believe it was around that.

He was building a reputation at Swansea and there was initial positivity to his signing. Then Mourinho and Conte didn't favour him but he wasn't sent out on loan in his 1st 2 seasons with us.

He played 16 times for Rennes, who finished 4th, so it's possible they had a decent enough first team to not need him.

So I'll just take the positivity from the praise from his manager and hope someone like Southampton come in for him.

If we get £15 million for him then we will have got ourselves our money back and a good deal because like a few of them, he doesnt have a future with us.

Unfortunately, the manager was speaking less so about it playing ability and more about his mentality and professionalism despite not playing so often

I think we could do much worse than allowing him to go for £5m with 50% sell on.

I think if he gets a solid season as a starter he will start to show his ability and grow in confidence and could end up as a £25m CB. He's still young enough to improve. He just needs patience which we cannot provide him.

I think for him it makes sense to move on and makes sense for us too. Maybe I'm a bit too caring but the idea of stockpiling players and never really letting them have a shot or loaning out all the time doesn't sit right to me.

Like with Chelsea having all those players all over the show. It feels wrong as it stunts their development. I find it surprising the PFA seem to be ok with it.

Anyway, good luck to him and I hope that all parties get a good deal.
