Did anyone watch the match? How did he play I know very little about him except i thought he was a left winger. I saw about 5 mins and it looked like he was playing up top?

Rodwell was making his first start for the Under-21s

Jack Rodwell marked his first England Under-21 start with a first-half equaliser as his side finished top of Group B at the European Championships.
Germany had taken an early lead when Gonzalo Castro finished off Jerome Boateng's through ball from 12 yards.
A much-changed England side levelled on the half hour with Rodwell heading home Craig Gardner's inswinging corner.
Richard Stearman went close with a late volley as both sides qualified for the semi-finals of the tournament.
England coach Stuart Pearce made 10 changes with only Adam Johnson remaining from the Spain victory last week.
But despite the number of new faces in the side, England started well and it was against the run of play when they went 1-0 down.
Michael Mancienne, who was returning from suspension having been sent off in the championship opener against Finland, lost his man and Boateng's neat through ball found Castro who coolly slotted home through the legs of Scott Loach from 12 yards.
The goal knocked England's confidence and it took them some time to recover from the early blow.
Their first real chance came after 15 minutes with a slick passing move resulting in Gardner heading Andrew Driver's cross straight at keeper Manuel Neuer.

Germany then survived a penalty claim when Stearman was brought down by Benedikt Howedes.
But England did equalise on the half hour, and it was no more than they deserved.
Gardner's inswinging corner from the left was headed home from close range by the unmarked Rodwell and England were level.
Rodwell had a further chance before the break, but blazed over from the edge of the area after a fine run through the heart of the Germany midfield.
England introduced keeper Joe Lewis after the break but he was rarely tested in a lacklustre start to the second half.
Pearce also later replaced Fraizer Campbell with Theo Walcott as England looked to inject some added pace into their play.
But it was Germany who looked the more likely to score with Howedes going close with a header while Mesut Ozil flashed a drive wide.
England's best chance again came from a corner with Stearman's close range volley diverted behind off the legs of Neuer.
From the resulting corner the ball dropped to Johnson on the edge of the box but his half volley was well held by Neuer.
It was the last real action of a poor second half as both sides progressed through to the last four.
Germany U21: Neuer, Beck, Howedes, Boateng, Schmelzer, Castro, Khedira, Ebert, Ben-Hatira, Ozil, Dejagah.
Subs: Fromlowitz, Aogo, Johnson, Hummels, Schwaab, Grote, Adlung, Ede, Marin, Wagner, Sippel.
England U21: Loach, Stearman, Tomkins, Mancienne, Taylor, Driver, Gardner, Rodwell, Johnson, Campbell, Rose.
Subs: Hart, Cranie, Onuoha, Richards, Gibbs, Cattermole, Noble, Muamba, Walcott, Lewis.
Referee: Peter Rasmussen (Denmark)

I watched it. He was playing just off the lone striker for most of the game and moved to the right towards the end. Wasn't great to be honest. Didn't really seem involved in the game. Not sure if playing off the striker is his best position though, so hard to really judge him.

I watched the first half, he seemed lost. However he also seemed to be played out of position. Rodwell was immense, what a find he looks.

Thats the difference when sides blood players from there youth in my opinion, West Ham did it last season and they have the likes of Collison, Stanislas. Everton name with Rodwell and I know there were one or two others who got a chance.

Give youth a chance, save your penny's and they may shine for you.

I watched the whole game and to be fair to Danny he was a little unlikely and a victim of his own versatility really. He started in central midfield as the more attacking of the 3 in the middle of the park. He managed a couple of nice touches but for the most part the game passed him by a little as he's a bit too small physically to play there, although this didn't stop him from putting himself about a few times.

Later on the game he was moved to the right wing and by the time the game finished he was up front on his own. Bearing in mind that he's a left winger, he didn't get to play there once so I certainly wouldn't use that as a good example of how good he can be......far from it.

Rodwell was ridiculous to be honest, 17 year olds, 2nd youngest player at the tournament and eligible for the next TWO under 21 championships. He could be the next Steven Gerrard for england I think. Totally unfazed by the whole thing.

For our kiddies side and reserves, when he was fit that is, Rose looked great in the middle. But he's definitely a winger in my mind. Watch the two Gibbs goals v the Kazahks, one a great dribble and lay off from the right, one a great burst of pace and lay off from the left, both from Rose.

He got booked for an enthusiastic challenge so I doubt he was intimidated because of his size.

Boateng plays for Hamburg and didn't get much time last season under Jol, in their first team but may be looking at a move after the Championships. They reckon he is the real deal as a CB and looks promising enough to step up to the German first team, as have three or four of his teammates already. That was a strong German team last night.

The write up in the Times mentionned Rose a couple of times and praised him, although Rodwell recieved most of the praise
