Not that The Week is a serious source, but this is the first report suggesting that we've given up on RB, I think?

The Liverpool Echo says Tottenham "would be prepared to offer in the region of £20-25m" for the Everton midfielder, but that was before news broke of his latest injury, and the word from the Lane is that Pochettino has decided Barkley is not worth the risk.

Yeah, Barkley may never be the same player again after his hamstring strain .

It is but who do you think a Scouse journalist is more likely to get answers from?

No reason to think the journalist is Scouse, the Echo piece isn't relevant to the speculation about RB, and the story in The Week isn't bylined. Meaning it's all the more likely to be nonsense, merely posted because it seemed something of an outlier.

This injury underlines the fact he'll be £10-15m cheaper in Jan, and £30m cheaper next summer!

But there will potentially be more competition then. MS was bought from Newcastle, not injured and was still shit!

I think we need to get this over the line quick, if the chavs get the ox for 35m then I could see Everton holding out for similar. Granted we don't know what levy is offering, but I'd be surprised if it was close to 35m

Possible sign of our plans.
No.8 shirt is still vacant, Barkley's shirt number of choice.
If Diop does sign soon, but does not get the No.8 shirt, would hint its being saved for Barkley.
