Well, the Amazon rumours mean this might just be the start of a sharp incline.

Will we see £50m as an average in the next 3-4years?

If so, we need to invest heavy in the academy, plus luring exceptional youngsters into it.

What Amazon rumors?

What Amazon rumors?

I assume referring to this, if Amazon enter BT and Sky haven't got a chance in hell, although it seems that is just speculation at this point.

What it means though is that even if Amazon stay on the sidelines the price will remain very high for the TV right and Sky won't be able to afford to drop them

Amazon's business model is less about profit than market share, they would probably pay an extra billion or two for the rights and lose a bit of cash if it meant using this as a means to begin taking market share.

In simple terms the inflation will probably remain or may even get worse.

There's rumours Google and Amazon may look to purchase the TV rights to the PL.

What that means for the long term financial situation I dont know.

Problem is the sale of the rights are only for the UK, which limits how profitable the rights will be. Amazon and Google would most likely prefer a global package/deal, but they won't get that as its not on offer. If however their interest is serious then expect them to drive the price further up.

Completely agree, they would likely see it as a loss leader to drive Prime, or such.

I can’t see tech being interested in UK rights for premier league broadcasting. The total addressable market is too small and broadcast laws are too restrictive.

Rights in overseas markets however would be a whole different story and I expect to see Facebook, Amazon and Alphabet all go after a piece of the pie

Is he still injured...? if so I can't see any reason Levy would try and finish this deal until deadline day - unless someone else is actually about to bid. This deal makes too much sense to all parties for it not to happen tbh.... (cue a Willianing from West London)

We all know that Levy would never pay to sign up for prime; it is free super saver delivery for him every single time. That is why our parcels never arrive until deadline day despite Poch having ordered them three months earlier.

I think he has been pictured training at Everton, so can't be far off, especially considering the 4 week time frame first given.
