Big difference between reported and confirmed. All I am saying is that before this afternoon (when Koeman said further scans were required) it was widely reported that Barkley had suffered a grade 3 tear. To reiterate - I know this is not confirmed - I was just saying it was widely reported to be the case. If you can be bothered to search back in this thread you'll see other posters also mentioning this at the time. And although I said I wouldn't, here are screen shots showing a variety of sites widely reporting a grade three tear between 12 and 24 hours ago. I've only captured the first two pages as I think that makes the point, but feel free to use a search engine yourself if you still think I am telling fibs. View attachment 31888 View attachment 31889

But it all stems from the Daily Mail, no? The rest all jump on the bandwagon pouring fuel on the flames.

Could turn out correct, but its all guesswork until the scans are done and the extent of the injury is confirmed.

Like I said, 'widely reported ' means fuck all really.

Some real legit sources there

FFS! All I said was widely reported. 400,000+ results in the last 24 hours! Including lots of different newspapers and sports web sites. Anyone else still want to dispute it was widely reported 24 hours ago that it was a grade three tear? Anyone else want to claim google shows zero results for them?

Seriously? FFS (again)! What a pointless argument this is. I said it was widely reported and you said it wasn't (and told me to keep digging a whole [sic]) (NOTE - If it wasn't for that sarcastic put down I would not have bothered replying). I said google it and you insinuated you had and not a single result came back. I post evidence 400,000 results from google in the last 24 hours. And now you claim the sources may not be correct. You might want to ask a family member or friend what 'widely reported' means.

To reiterate - all I said was that it was widely reported yesterday that Barkley had suffered a grade three tear. And it was. Doesn't mean he has. Just that is was widely reported in the last 24 hours.

I won't post again in this thread as I don't want to bore the pants of other members of this fine board.

Well, I sympathise with you. It was widely reported, even if it turns out not to be true, and people speculate over far less. I don't think it's illegitimate to discuss stuff that's been reported.

Christ on a bike. You've been posting non stop about a grade three tear, clearly putting a lot of stock into this 'widely reported', cough, bollox.

You've been back tracking ever since. FFS, wait for confirmation and it might of saved you pages of waffle!

3 months would be bad and more in line with a torn hamstring. Obviously we're buying him for the long term, but it would certainly take a large chunk out of his use this season.

Multiple sources are saying it's a really bad injury, and now daily mail saying 3 months. I'm sure it isn't far from the truth.

Weren't the ITKs intimating the injury wasn't bad at all....

I think they were taking a "let's wait and see" approach, rather than commenting either way.

If that's true then the transfer is dead. No chance we're paying money for someone who's out for 3 months with only 10 months left on contract. Hope we've had a plan B because squad wise we are short.

Hamstring injuries are frustrating because if you're in good shape and stretch properly you should avoid them.

Can't help but think this wouldn't have happened if we'd have already signed him because Poch and the team have a great muscular injury track record. They're known to do a lot of work on the glutes and thighs to avoid such injuries.

maybe just dead temporarily. Go back in January at a fraction of the cost - either to sign then or to pick up in the summer. Or it's not as serious as the Mail say.

If it does turn out to be as serious as reported then, as per, fuck our luck - and Ross' on this occasion.

All a bit bizarre in the circumstances, especially as it occurred more than a week ago. Weird one.
