Always got fired up for games against Woolwich so there probably was some truth in it.
I also read somewhere that his wall was covered in pictures of Glenn Hoddle when he was a kid, as was mine [The porn had to stay hidden in the bottom of my subbuteo box]

This would be cool, if he hadn't decided to become a pantomime villain. He talks some utter shite, I don't consider his punditry to be 'straight talking' it's just 'I'm Roy Keane, I've got to be a badman and tell everyone how shit they are'

I can't imagine somebody so stupid and rotten being one of ours.

EDIT: Just read the ITK thread and retract my last sentence.

Yep, I heard an interview once saying he supported Spurs, he'll always make comments about the past or how we throw it away, speaks like the usual Spurs fan, although he's not that fanatical about us by the looks of things, the only thing that he seems to get excited about is walking his dog.

I used to enjoy watching his battles with Vieria, both of them could intimidate the opposition but both could play good football as well. The year Keane won player of the season he was magnificent.

For all those brilliant players we've let go, missed out on etc, we've had some special players come our way. We seem to pick up a sensational every 2-3 years, compare that to a team like West Ham who have only had Di Canio and Tevez in the past 25 years

Mackay scored goals.

As did Keane in truth. He wasn't prolific, about 1 in 10, where Mackay was 1 in 6/7. It would be interesting to compare their assist stats too, as both could pick a lovely through ball.

Similar players but, for me, shared only one personality trait, in that both had a fierce desire to compete and win.
