Exclusive: Millwall boss agrees deal for Tottenham youngster
by Alex Aldridge January 17, 2014

MILLWALL have agreed a loan deal for Tottenham youngster Ryan Fredericks.
NewsAtDen understands the 21-year-old Spurs academy product, who can play right back or in midfield, will join the Lions in time to face Ipswich Town this Saturday.
New boss Ian Holloway has pushed ahead with a deal to sign Fredericks instead of pursuing his interest in Swansea's Jazz Richards, who had also held talks about a move to The Den.
Fredericks has made one appearance for Tottenham so far this season, coming off the bench in a 4-1 win over Anzhi Makhachkala in the Europa League last month.

Naughton probably offski too and IMHO Fredericks is/will be better than both

we havent seen how he does defensively yet. He was good going forward.

Smith has done well for the England U21s when I have seen him. I dont remember anyone saying he should be back up or part of the squad at the start of the season either.

He can show what he can do there. Still not sure about his defensive qualities but good opportunity.

Walker, naughton and Smith are still in front of him so he isn't needed.

Never thought he'd make it here, so if he does well at Millwall it'll show how far he's come in such a short space of time. Couldn't get a game on loan in League 1 last year, but took his one first-team opportunity this year which raised his profile enough to get him a Championship loan. Good on the lad.

Good move for him. Happy enough for Naughton to be back up right-back for the rest of the season and see how Fredericks does. He's more similar to Walker than Naughton is so if he does progress then it would be good for next season as he'd be more similar replacement. Good luck to him.

To be fair, you could say the same about most our youngsters. If they're not gonna get played, they probably will want to go out on loan, no?

Great call, I had nearly forgot you mentioned it until you reminded us all in the ITK thread and here. I hope he does well on loan, shame not a prem move.
