It's all very well saying pay this or that now because he will be worth far more next year but does anyone think that hasn't occurred to him, his agent or his current club? It's not exactly a fucking secret that only us lot are in on:)
Here's the simple truth, whether we like it or not the best move for him this summer is to stay exactly where he is and I've said that from the beginning.

Hope we can still get him but for the record.....we could I'm sure have offered something even better - stay at Fulham on loan with no recall for 2 seasons on bigger money than Fulham were likely to offer. He would still only be 19 when he finished there and the secotnd season could well have been in the prem.

Do you think anybody else was offering that ?

Just going to bump my own post from 3 pages back. We could have uniquely offered them 2 years loan with no recall, on say, a 5 or 6 year deal

Martial signed a new deal at Monaco and them left immediately.

But TBH this kid sounds like he's got his head screwed on. He knows he's good enough to play for the big teams, no need to rush it yet. Out only trump card may be Parker, who he's spoken of as a mentor.

We might have already have done this, nobody knows.

The impression I have is he decided to stay at Fulham in spite of all the offers coming in. I don't think it mattered what kind of deal we or any of the other teams put in front of him he's decided it's better to sign on pro terms with Fulham. Good on him, I say.

Don't know about that, would be bad to go Liverpool or United I agree, but Spurs?
With our injuries to Lamela and Son, Sessegnon would have been in our starting XI as we kick off the season.
Just up to him to perform, what an opportunity - no less than what was given to Dele Alli.
Worked out well for Alli, Sessegnon meanwhile will play Championship donkey football.
All England senior debutants are Poches' boys after all. Can only agree with those who say we should go back in with serious money. Was the one transfer I wanted most of all this summer ... well apart from Bonucci to create the best back three world football have ever seen.

He is two years younger than Dele was when we bought him, Dele had the extra time in the lower league getting regular game time, there is no hurry for him.
If he has another good season, and I don't doubt that he will, he will have wider options next year, I agree we are the best option for him should he want to leave but he doesn't have to leave, whatever football he plays in the championship it hasn't done him any harm so far.
I want him to come to us and I genuinely think we will be better for him than any other club at the moment but I and no doubt you, are looking at it from a Spurs point of view, he should and probably is, looking a it from a Ryan Sessegnon point of view.

Isn't it time to close this thread?...having signed a new contract with Fulham
If players signing contracts meant they weren't transferred afterwards maybe, but seeing as how that's not the case it should stay open.

Furthermore this has the added effect that this was not Sessegnon signing an extension. This was Sessegnon signing his first professional contract. The significance being it allows Fulham to sell him for a negotiated fee rather than a fee through a tribunal. He could still very well be sold this window - to us or elsewhere.

He did the right thing by Fulham signing that deal, now they'll get a huge fee for him when he eventually moves.

I'd still like us to try and buy him now, even if it costs a lot and we have to loan him back.
