Has he been wanting to leave for 3 years? Not heard zaha say anything like that until recently

It was in the guardian piece that seemed to come from a Palace covering journo. 3rd consecutive summer.

I definitely remember the same last year.

Didn’t he sign a new contract last season? Couldn’t have wanted to leave that much

He signed it right at the end of the window. But yeah, you've basically highlighted the reason of the discussion earlier on.

When Sessegnon signed his contract to respect Fulham and protect his value, he made it short term to suit himself too. Zaha didn't do that. I think he was badly advised and I'm pretty sure I heard Simon Jordan on Talksport saying the same thing.

Finally a highlight tape from this season:

Looks like he's not afraid to get stuck in and graft.

Also, he has great natural ability to play as an attacking left-back. Could learn a thing or two from Rose in that regard.

What was the touted price? £25m? Would be a bargain in my opinion.

Watching that video you have to ask how many more assists he could have had this season if his team mates could hit the bloody target!!!!

He's been saying for 3 years he needs to leave Palace and play CL football to progress his career and now Palace are likely to price him out of a move.

Pretty much everyone in football is saying he was badly advised for signing 2 new deals in that time with no CL clause, including his former chairman.

If he's just in it for money then he's done ok, although he'd probably be on even more than £130k at a top 6 club now.

People said similar of kane when he signed a new deal. Maybe he likes it there.

Kane doesn't go to the papers saying he needs to leave every summer.

Crystal Palace are yet to receive any offers for Wilfried Zaha who, effectively for the third summer in succession, has made clear his preference would be to move to a Champions League-qualified club if an acceptable bid is lodged.
Zaha held informal talks this week with the Palace chairman Steve Parish, who enjoys a strong relationship with the youth-team graduate, in the wake of his most productive Premier League campaign and while he fell short of submitting a transfer request, reiterated his ambition to experience life involving Europe’s elite club competition.

Snippet from the Guardian piece which came across as very pro-Palace/palace sourced. Don't get me wrong I'm sure he wasn't desperate to leave and was comfortable at the club, but he had zero foresight if he truly had a burning ambition of playing in the CL, as signing these contracts without having a clause brought in has probably priced all other teams out of lodging an 'acceptable bid'.

I can see it getting ugly over him.

Sessegnon on the other hand should exit a lot more amicably.

He’s a much better passer than I ever gave him credit for. Also set up a lot of one-two pass opportunities outside the box but the player he passed to never seemed switched on to it.

I’d have thought sitting on loo longer would be better for you as makes sure any stragglers get the opportunity to pop out no?

Finally a highlight tape from this season:

This vid makes him look practically world class.

I can now see why we're after him, and simultaneously am prepared to give him time to grow under Poch as it's unlikely he'll set the world alight immediately upon his arrival.

What I mean is he didn't have a fantastic season at Fulham in the prem, but he is clearly capable. It might be that the moments of magic are more fleeting to begin with.

Hopefully Scott Parker putting in a good word for us with him. Cut price deal for a young english player we clearly have had strong interest in, in the past. I highly doubt his performance this season would have made us give up on him. Personally feel like he acquitted himself in a positive manner for a 19 year old in a poor poor side

Sorry to be pedantic but he only turned 19 on Saturday so actually he was an 18 year old, that said I completely agree with your assessment.

Thanks for pointing that out, Even better! I thought he was younger but went to check his age, and obviously it had been updated. Top talent and I genuinely believe it’s a positive that he could play fullback and further forward, more game time (y)

Looks extremely intelligent for his age with the passes he's picking, one of my issues for us has been the poor choices when crossing especially from our fullbacks so nice to see he picks his passes carefully.
