Naughton, Defoe and Dawson certainly but not Adebayor and Dembele. With the right manager they can be top quality players.

I think that Dawson is being made to look a lot worse than he actually is because of the stupid high line AVB insists on playing.

Was it the high line that made him demand the ball from Lloris and then put Naughton in trouble with a hospital pass, a mistake that led to a series of Pool corners that culminated in their first goal ?

Depends in the offer in Dembele's case. Lots of talent, obviously flawed though. Good enough offer and I would consider it.

Paulinho has only just joined and I hate to judge too early but I just don't see it with him. Perhaps in a new system under a new boss he will flourish.

Naughton is terrible. Dawson not good enough.

I think the system is outdated

Everybody knows when to pressure us , closedown quickly and and put a straight forward pass down the channel

Watch the Spammers do it

Interesting comments from AVB in the post-match conference - suggests he didn't want some of the players signed, or at least that they weren't his first choices. My guess is this applies to Lamela and Eriksen..

Pity they may have saved his job.

Agree with this. Dembele is bloody frustrating. He's one of the most comfortable players I've seen on the ball and can turn on a sixpence, with great strength and acceleration for a man of his size. However, the downside is that he has no vision whatsoever and can't make a forward pass. I can see why he started off as an attacker as he has the ability to take the ball around players easily and has a very powerful shot, but he never applies his abilities well enough.

I don't want to write Paulinho off yet but he's starting to look a bit like the Brazilian Jenas. The fact that he's done brilliantly for Brazil makes me hope he can be a great player for us.

I've looked but I can't find a link - they mentioned it on Match of the Day. Think they might be reading into a bit much but we'll see, I'm sure the papers will be all over it tommorow

If he is sitting Lamela because he didn't want him signed, that is stubborn and pathetic.

I would start Lamela and Eriksen for the next five PL games running. If they are as good as they are supposed to be, they will be fine. No more of this cotton wool wrapping, rotation rubbish in the PL.

I've been saying for a long time these players were not his choices, they are Levy's choices. Still as an AVB fan, I have to say to be smashed by wankerpool is fucking shameful with the players we have.

I thought you meant AVB's backroom staff, just nobody knows their names so it would be awkward to sack them.

Yep, AVB to go with his portugee cronies is the jist.

it seems they are the only people in the world who think kyle naughton is a premiership level player...

dembele is never going to be consistent with that hip and that injury does not seem to be going away...

Those pointing the finger at Levy - i don't see Baldini getting much stick and i'd be prone to believing it was more his doing that prompted the buying of half our current squad. Aside from that, those debating who we have now, do you all honestly believe that they aren't that good? I look down our teamsheet and i see a pretty impressive bunch of players who have all earned that reputation - the only consistent is, unfortunately, AVBs formation and tactic. Until we give the squad a try in a more suitable formation, with players in the roles that play to their strengths rather than to a preset formation, i'm afraid AVB is digging his own hole.

Perhaps it's best he doesn't get to drive the Paris-Dakar, he'd probably insist he did it in reverse, with three wheels after replacing the fourth with a windscreen tied to 30 feet of rope, insisting it will work.

No one untill new coach comes, he might get more out of player X than AVB did.
