I dont like all the billionaires coming into football and it could still carry many pitfalls in the long-term if billionaire owners leave before the club has achieved self-sufficiency. However, as they seem to be a feature of the modern game (in the Prem at least) then its a case of if you can beat them join them.

But I'd rather there were no billionaires in football rather than us having to join the list of clubs who depend on one.
I agree, but I think English football is far too far down the road now the road now for anything to be done.

Ooooh, are they his daughters, don't knowe about the crack sniffing nose but the one at the back looks rather yummy.

I still think it could be DIC thats in talks with Spurs, there was a thread on this a day after Abu Dhabi United bought out City, according to that source, Spurs were in poll position to be bought out by them, and they were as wealthy as Abu Dhabi United.

I dont want any part of it.

New owner who couldn't give a crap about us, buys big bucks players who dont give a crap about us, who attract plastic fans who dont give a crap about us, builds a big stadium so the plastic fans can all fit in it, we don't win anything one year, prima donna players murmur about wanting to join Real Madrid, owner gets bored and sells to british owner who doesnt have as much money, we cant afford to pay the inflated wages, sells the big players, plastic fans leave to support arsenal, new stadium is half empty, we all return.

Mid table future.

Rumours about being bought by an oil tycoon, who can guarantee us success, begin to surface....

So we spend even more money and continue to lose. :|

Our reputation, to some extent, does still put us up there amongst the "big" clubs when it comes to attracting talent but it's been proven time and time again, even when we're so minted that we could gold plate every seat at The Lane, we still appear to not have the pulling power to tempt players here over the Chelseas, Uniteds, Madrids and Milans. Christ, in some cases, we don't have the pull over mid-table Russian and Dutch teams

We need to be realistic - we need to stop the rot then we can sensibly start considering ourselves attractive enough a prospect for the money grabbing Spaniard or Russian that will turn us into a top four side. Until then, or if it's not that, someone sources the problem we have with negotiating, we can't keep parading around thinking we can just bring in expensive talent on the promise of a fat paycheck and relegation.

Would anyone actually object to this guy buying the club with that cash?

Yep. I think long term it would do more harm to the club than good.
