He was absolutely immense in that match. Such a shame he never got over his injuryRemember that performance against AC Milan at home, dominated their entire midfield.
Great article. I always had a soft spot for Sandro. I remember his debut against Arsenal, full of energy.
If it wasn't for the injuries he could have been something special.
Sandro and Gylfi could have been superstars under the tutelage of Poch. Shame they left when they did.
Sandro and Dembele complimented each other and Gylfi just ahead in the number 10 role would have been interesting under Poch.
You could argue that Gylfi had better traits to play that role better than Dele.
I think only Parker survived the Spurs DM curse. Massive shame. Sandro was really something. Those goals...
Gylfi isn't in the same league and is a pretty limited footballer. He'll do well in struggling sides where he can produce the odd 'moment' in a game in the form of a free kick, long ranger, or a great pass, but he thwarts a lot of your momentum in a side that is constantly in transitions. Yet another player Everton have massively overspent on.
I'm still disappointed that Holtby didn't work with Poch.In Bale's final season with us it could be argued that he was our second best attacking player.
Even Harry Kane said he learnt a lot from Gylfi, how to prepare for matches and act professional.
I still believe under Poch, he could have been something special, he was a different player for us than he is for Everton and if he had stuck with us I think he would have grown differently as a player, like the way Dembele, Eriksen and Son have (to name a few).
