Is Stefan de Vrij any good, and how likely is he to be a starter for Netherlands? Got him on a free, based solely on the fact he started Holland's last friendly!:ROFLMAO:
He's a good player alright & will definitely start. Van Gal has been playing 3-5-2 in warm-up games, so it will be Vlar, De Vrij & Indi as cb's

This is waaay more fun than regular fantasy football! Getting a work league set up. My only gripe is it's not a particularly user-friendly site. Either that or I'm a bit stupid. Anyway, can someone explain what happens next, when everyone has a full squad. Is it just a case of picking your best 11 or is there still 'Arry-esque wheeling and dealing to be done before the first matches?

I'm not looking too bad. Just three more to get, it's getting tough!

Ospina

Debuchy Hummels Garay Vermaelen

Valbuena Gerrard Ozil

Robben Higuain Hazard

Schar, ........, ......., ........

Woo hoo, got my 15! Added Zuniga, Ramires and Balotelli so pretty pleased in the end.

We're waiting on a few people to submit their bids, if they havent done that by this evening i'm going to have to email support to get them removed from the league. Annoyingly, there doesn't seem to be a feature for me to do this myself so those slackers who signed up and then haven't been bothered to do anything, pull your fingers out!

Unfortunately not, you have to complete the auction phase to progress, and until they fill their teams we cant progress. I've emailed support to get them to sort it, it's annoying i cant chuck them out myself.

Any players people have bought who didn't make their nations final 23 man squad can be transferred out at the next transfer deadline which will be after the first round of group games. I'll be running a transfer window after each round of group games through that stage, and one after every stage after that.

So it'll be like this:

Group stage matches 1
transfer window
Group stage matches 2
transfer window
Group stage matches 3
transfer window
last 16 knockouts
transfer window
quarter finals
transfer window
semi finals
transfer window
final

Once we get past the groups stages people will be able to buy up to 3 players from one nation instead of 2.

Also, i've seen people mentioning their starting XI and worrying over what subs to play. Don't worry, all 15 of your players will be able to play all of their games. The league uses a tool called Super Subs, which means you can select for team for each individual game, not just a round of games. This means you can ensure all your players are selected for the relevant games they are playing in. The only situation this doesnt work for is if you have two keepers who are playing each other for example, because you cant play both of them in the same match.

It's probably worth everyone have a thorough read of the game guide as it will explain the mechanics of the game much better than i can. http://www.fantasyleague.com/ProWorldCup/GameGuide/Default.aspx

@LukaMotion Griezmann could be a good acquisition now Ribery is out

Does anyone know if you can run your team from the phone app? Assuming I can't see any players on it yet because the auction is still going

The BSoDL is looking interesting (I'm in League 2, Spurs Community WC).

Keepers: Courtois, Lloris
Defenders: Jordi Alba, Zabaleta, Marcelo, Corluka
Midfielders: Sneijder, Okazaki, Schweinsteiger
Attackers: Drogba

Very happy with my keepers and back line. Now for some strikers.

Pretty sure there is only an hour between the end of the first round of group games (Bel/Alg) and the start of the second round of group games (Bra/Mex). How will you get a window in during that period?

Edit: turns out Russia vs. Korea in group H is after Brazil's second game in Group A. Confuses matters a bit!

Aha I hadn't realised that, complicates things a bit, I guess then we won't really be able to do windows during the group stage, it'll have to be just before the knockouts.

What's the tie preference all about?

If you were to bid the exact same amount as another for a player, the person with the lower tie preference number would win. I think the tie preference number, for the first round of bidding, is determined by who signed up first. It then changes for the next auctions
