Selling Berbatov to Man United is Good: They will stop ar5ena1 winning the league, they're going to be top two in anycase so are not rivals of Spurs, plus Berbatov has less than 2 years left in his contract, if he wants to go he can.

Selling Keane to Liverpool is bad: They can stop Spurs from claiming a top 4 place so are direct rivals of Spurs, Keane always scores against his old teams (myth?), plus Keane is contracted to Spurs for 4 more years which is the rest of his playing career, if we don't want to sell him we don't have to.

I really don't think buying Keane is going to solve Liverpool's problems to be honest..

But for £18-£20m, I think it's a good deal for us.

I like to think Ar5ena1 are on a downer and going to win bugger all, that their spirit is broken and Wenger leaves.

I also hope to win the lottery.

If both Keane and Berbatov have 4 years left on their contract, and are widely acknowledged as one the best striker pairings around, why can't Ramos and Levy tell ManU and Liverpool to properly bugger off, and be straight with Keane and Barbatov and tell them that they are Spurs top two for the next four years and that should forget about other clubs and get down to business of winning trophies with Spurs, and send them out to face the fans. Who cares if they take a few weeks to rid their minds of lifting the Champions League or Premier League with other clubs...they'll soon settle down and start scoring if the alternative is to watch Bent and whoever having a go.

Ultimately I think it is about money, if Man United and Liverpool are prepared to pay big bucks for Keane and Berbatov then the money men will cash in and Ramos will still believe that he is the one with the magic touch and take his chances with a cheaper pair of strikers.

No. Although the Money is part of the issue, what's the point of having players that don't want to play for us, have a shit season as a result, and then we end up selling for £5m less next pre-season?

Answer - There is no point in keeping them.

We have enough money if we wanted to, to take a hit on the sales price.
How much money do you think Levy's and Spurs pride is worth? Perhaps being strong will reap priceless rewards in the furture? How would would it alter ours and other teams position on transfer battles in the future?
That would be the arugment to risking keeping players who want to be somewhere else.
And as odd as it sounds, wanting to be somewhere else doesn't nessarily mean you don't want to be where you are or are unhappy where you are. I want Angelia Jolly but i'm delighted to stay with my fit missus :)

I think you also have to look at the individuals. If it was Nik Anelka you'd be within you rights to assume he'd not put it in. Robbie Keane however, to me seems a sensible enough lad and for his mates at the club at least he'd put in a shift. Nothing will change Keane being inconsistent, every season at spurs and for any furture seasons at spurs or at Liverpool he'll have poor games> If it's at Spurs ,us fans will ahve to rmeeber that a bad game isn't nessarliy becasue he wants to go. It might be becasue he's having one of his bad days, I think he deserves those considerations. I'm not confident most fans would think that way though.

With Berbatov, well he scored 23 and set up 23 whilst being outwardly unhappy, so we have proof he's productive even though he wants to go.

If the management and Board deemed it the right action to make them stay, then i'll support that descicion.

Yeah thirded. If it means them changing to 442 it makes them more vulnerable defensively and means Gerard gets moved wide :) OR keane will play as an AM where his not that good or he turns into a squad player (yawn)

WHAT is wrong with those who want either attacker to leave? They were amongst the BEST pair in English football last season and NOW some are happy to see them leave? Maybe we can bring in a few English 'deadbeats' to give us more of a British feel but less of a football feel? COP ON mes amis......In addition to the present squad, as it stands, PLUS the De Santos, Modric etc we are dealing with last years weakness's and we can genuinely expect to 'wrestle' for a CL place?
When will some of our 'so called' supporters leave their 'blinkered' attitude to what is BEST for Spurs and not continue to site MONEY as a reason to dispose of our most valuable (on field) assets? As we stand, now, we OWN both parties and we should not be prepared to deviate from this point of view....EVEN if Berby or Keane, or whoever, wants to 'throw a wobbly'? DO we want a successful THFC or are we in the business of being illogical, vindictive, WOMEN (apologies to any female readers...a certain type of woman!).
I, for one, am LOST as to understand how we are under pressure to let ANY player move unless we sanction such a move. After all, and if we are correct in understanding that either player seeks a move, it is just too bad for that player....He signed a contract and, as such, he must honor same. No throwing toys from the cot! I KNOW for certain that RK was, as of last week, delighted with the Pool interest BUT he was HAPPY at THFC. It may be said that 'his head was turned...partially', but the subsequent 'clamer' of betrayal from 'some' of our 'finest' does cause him to rethink his attitude to Spurs?
It has indeed been a worrying week.....COYS!

But that assumes that Keane doesn't want to play for us. It seems he'd rather play for ManU, but that doesn't mean he doesn't want to play for Spurs. Let's be honest, we all generally want something better than we already have, but that doesn't mean we're unhappy with what we've got.

If Robbie stays I believe he'll do well for us. Berba too. I can't believe people are still suggesting that his mannerisms were evidence of unhappyness, he's just a stroppy guy and more annoyed by bad performances than the club.

I wouldn't be happy if we sold Berba but I'd be gutted if we sold Keane to Liverpool, it'd be a very bad move. I'd rather sell both to ManU

It is a bad thing to sell our stars to any top 4 clubs when we are trying to get in there ourselves.

I'd rather we kept hold of both of them, but they have both made it quite clear that they would rather be elsewhere, so there isn't much point in keeping them. All that would happen is that every week there would be a story in the press about how they want out, and every time they have a poor game the crowd would boo them and it would eventually destabilise the club. There comes a point where every player has burnt his bridges.

I don't really begrudge Keano his move - he's been a loyal servant and never grumbled, and this is his last shot at the CL. With Berba, ever since the first season he's made noises about joining a bigger club and has generally been a sulky f*cker, which really pisses me off. It's a shame, because he's the best player we've had for years.

I'd rather we sold both of them to a foreign club, but we'll get better money from Liverpool and Man U. I can't see Robbie making a significant difference to Liverpool, but I do think Berbatov will improve Man U a lot, particularly if they have to deal with Ronaldo leaving.
