Tottenham have rejected an opening bid from AC Milan for right-back Serge Aurier. Talks are continuing between Spurs and the Serie A side but the two clubs remain some way apart in their valuations.

It will be a good move for him to go to a slower league. I feel he gives 100% but the speed of play in EPL results in him making poor choices at the back and also going forward.

IF we Get Doherty - good. But: who is going to be Doherty’s backup?
The best couple of seasons we’ve had recently, we had a top of the league first choice on both full-/wingbacks (Walker/Rose), with very solid backups in Trippier and Davies. Gave the manager the possibility to rotate, the players to rest, the team not to lose too much quality when someone was injured or unable to play. What’s wrong in keeping Aurier? If we get Doherty, Serge will still be (by some margin) our second best right back.

Think Aurier is at a stage where he wants to be first choice. He will be at many clubs.

He’s someone good teams are interested in and he is someone who can help to generate some funds.
