Did Castaignos play for Inter? If Yes, what was your impression of him?

He came on for the last 15-20 mins when Inter were chasing the game and he did ok but the problem was he was playing on the right side of a front 3 and seemed to be hugging the touchline which was probably his instructions. I've never seen him play wide for Feyenoord but I guess he'll have to wait his opportunity to play down the middle.

Bastian Schweinsteiger admits he is flattered by AC Milan's pursuit of his services, amid reports of a €25 million bid being lined up.

Coup for the rossoneri if they bag him.

Cassano is such a great player, really is, how can our best offensive player (Italian) have been ignored by the national team for so long? I would love him at Tottenham.

I think Juve will have a really good season this year. We have made some brilliant signings and if Pirlo stays fit anything can happen.

I assume the answer to this is ... because he's a ****?

Watching the replay at the moment but I'm annoyed that ESPN didn't show the Milan - Lazio game last night.

Are Friday night games going to be a regular thing this season?

A second ESPN channel can't come soon enough, they have already pushed aside a couple of Bundesliga games this season.

That is the answer, but he has got a lot better in the last few seasons, settled down with a girl, lost a lot of weight and has generally calmed down. Always appears like a decent chap when he goes for interviews actually. He will always be a victum of South, north tensions, and frankly was wrongly frozen out of the Sampdoria team.

Definitely, what was worse is that they had on bloody rugby and didn't show the game till this morning  Only thing I can think of is that because of the strike the game didn't get 100% confirmed until sometime during the week so maybe espn hadn't provisioned for it or something.

Very good game on now between Cesena and Napoli, 1-1 right now

You bloody changed your tune

I said this in the ITK thread before they made any signings, when Inferno mentioned juve would be a bad move for anyone

Disagree they are on the rise imo, they just got their new stadium which is owned by them and not the local council so they will get more income and they have some brilliant players imo

I'm a Juve fan, and I can tell you we are not on the rise, not even close, we will struggle to make the top 7 again next year, with Palermo looking so strong. Even Genova or Fiorentina could cause us problems

That was before we announced the signings of well, most of the new players. I think Ziegler and Pirlo where the only two signings confirmed at that time, but I might be getting muddled up. Our biggest problem was the midfield and full backs, not only have we fixed that problem but we have bought some real quality players. We still need another CB but that can wait. I reckon we will finish 3rd this season, but wont be easy...

Really pleased with the result today, yet to watch the highlights but we did well on what was potentially by no means an easy game.

A lot of people in the UK (to be fair in many places) don't give Serie A enough credit. Sure its slower then the Premier League but its not as defensive as people think. Its fun from a tactical aspect. Seems the 3 man defense is making a comeback.

FT: Palermo 4 - 3 Inter.

Forlan looked great when he came on but it wasn't enough. He would have looked great in white at the lane.

I watched the game.

Juventus completely dominated, it was an exceptionally one sided match thanks to our good play and how awful Parma were. I can't remember a decent chance for Parma except in the final minutes where Giovinco was fouled in the box which resulted in their penalty. Pirlo ran the show as if he was still in his prime, and delivered two wonderful assists. Barzagli and Chiellini nullified their attacking threat, Lichsteiner always provided an outlet from the right, Matri was a bit sloppy passing the ball and missed a glorious one on one chance with GK but was also unlucky to get a goal disallowed. Vidal came on and scored a beauty right away, and slotted well in midfield alongside Pirlo. ADP also played well and had an assist. Vucinic and Krasic also came on in the second half and were lively. Marchisio always energetic and scored an absolute beauty, Pepe also scored a good goal aswell.

All in all it was a great performance with lots of positives to take from. Oh and that stadium is lovely.

He played the whole game, he was just operating wide left..

Strange tactics by the inter coach, can't see him lasting long 3-4-3 with all sorts of players out of position. Also taking off zarate after 30 or so minutes doesn't look like he is going to remain popular with the players or even moratti for long..

Brilliant game though, can't wait for next week inter vs roma and napoli vs milan.

Gasperini has played a 3-4-3 for every club he manages, and taking players off before half time is common in italy. Palermo are a good team and they really should be looking for a top 5 finish this season, even without Pastore. This game is not a good marker to say how well Inter will do this season, although the Italian media will be going ballistic (mostly tele-lombardia ) as they did when inter drew under Mourinho in their first game.

just to show you how the football coverage on this channel plays

Some great tottenham ones in there as well.

Palermo are a good team yes, however they have as you mentioned lost key players, but are still good nevertheless.. But i think the instability caused at the club by the resignation of one manager and the sacking of his successor at the beginning of the month, represented a great opportunity for inter which they blew..

Yes, Gasperini has a tendency to play 3-4-3 and it worked a treat for genoa iirc, but with Inter I can't see this succeeding especially with their poor defence and their midfield which seemed non-existent today. It was also suicidal playing players out of position. It scares me how he wants to play sneijder as a forward and judging by today zanetti as a defender, personally, I think he should just keep it simple as inter have a tremendous squad.

With regards to zarate's substitution, he took him off because he was offering 'no help defensively', but they conceded all four goals with sneijder who seemingly offered this defensive option, so i don't think he thought that one through properly. Thats why I think he acted hastily and could potentially harm the relationship between him and his players (that and playing players out of position).

Anyhow like you said its not a marker for the rest of the season, but I think the formation is not suited to inter and cost them today.
