Shaq Coulthirst hit a hat-trick as our Under-18s beat MK Dons 3-2 on Saturday.
The Under-16 striker opened the scoring in the fifth minute before completing his treble with two goals in seven minutes at the start of the second half.
That put the lads in charge at 3-0 up but coach Alex Inglethorpe expressed his disappointment that MK were allowed back into the game with goals after 60 and 80 minutes leaving his side hanging on for the win in the Premier Academy League encounter.
Alex reported: "Shaq's hat-trick was the big positive and it was a good result but, to be honest, we didn't play particularly well.
"We took the lead after five minutes after good work down the left from Alex Pritchard and Laste Dombaxe, he crossed and Shaq finished well.
"We huffed and puffed after that and both teams had chances. Ramil Sheriff had one header cleared off the line and we went in at half-time 1-0 up.
"Shaq produced another good finish to make it 2-0 a couple of minutes into the second half and he completed his hat-trick after 55 minutes. That was a good goal, he lost his marker from Alex Pritchard's corner and volleyed home at the near post.
"We started the second half well, had more intensity in our game but we took our eye off the ball after it went to 3-0 and allowed MK to come back into it.
"They made it 3-1 on the hour, scored again with 10 minutes left and we were left hanging on in the end and that should never have been the case.
"It was a win but as a team, we're capable of so much more and the most important thing for these lads is their style of play."
Spurs U18s: Archer, Barthram, Francis-Angol, Hawkins (Champion, 70), Sheriff, Stewart, Dombaxe (McBride, 46), Tapping (Day, 75), Coulthirst, Munns, Pritchard. Unused subs: Miles, Ekong.
"Shaq Cool-Thirst" (assuming/hoping how its pronounced) has to be the coolest name in the premier league, please to god let him fulfil his obvious potential and become a superstar!
