would be silly if they are meeting today to meet on a different day

lol..I meant if there is a meeting between them today, as the papers are alleging, then I'm sure the announcement to sack him will come today as well....not tomorrow or later this week that some on here are speculating.

The 18 month contract has nothing to do with 'wanting the club to do well'. A 6 month contract wouldn't have changed anything, other than financially.
The point I'm trying to make whether it's a 6 month or 18 month contract, it really sends out the message that the guy is a dead man walking.
AVB was rumoured at the time to have stepped down. I believe there was ITK saying he had lost motivation/confidence after all the media/fan criticism, coupled with heavy losses against City and Liverpool.

Levy's own statement yesterday suggested that AVB leaving wasn't a decision he had control of.
"We were also forced to make managerial changes, which is far from ideal mid-season."

This states Levy didn't want to make a mid-season change, knowing it fucks things up.

Now admittedly, none of this is absolute proof, but it's considerably more evidence than anyone who believes Levy just fired him in a fit of anger has at their disposal.
Thats it? ITK rumour and a statement from Levy saying he was forced to make a change? I would say he felt forced to make a change because he didn't like the results.

I say AVB was sacked.
Tottenham have sacked manager Andre Villas-Boas in the wake of Sunday's 5-0 Premier League thrashing by Liverpool.

Love how "Sherwoodians" are seen as the irrational ones who need a space to vent. :ROFLMAO:

I''ve been seriously worried about the mental state of most spurs fans who reacted to Sherwood becoming manager as if he'd banged their wife and killed their dog
Knowing my ex he probably had;)

Villas Boas walked imo.
He might well have been booted regardless but I think it was at best 'mutual' which is what the original statement said.

Anyway! Sherwood will not be surrounded by such uncertainties...

As I said Tim was told a week or so ago, so I have to give him some credit that he saw the job through to the end of the season, but he has been talking to other clubs since then. The announcement will be made to suit the club not the fans, possibly tomorrow.

The Championship would be a good learning curve for Tim. You need to be a strong character to be a manager and he has that to be fair. If he just learned to keep his mouth shut and improved tactically then he wouldn't do a bad job somewhere else.

The snippets on here were that he was asked to bring Adebeyor back in to the frame, told the football was boring and the lack of goals worrying.
Being the stubborn **** that he was he refused so he was sacked.

Can we get another 150 odd pages in the next few hours? :p
There's gonna be a lot of mileage in here once he's got the boot, rob, if you just can't resist leaving it open for a while.:)

Surey there's got to be a celebratory phase?;)

I concur with your snippets but not with the outcome. :)

As a manager I'd put Sherwood in the Hughton bracket, but without the humility. WBA or Norwich would be his limit. He just isn't up to this job yet. If i could believe that he learns from his mistakes I'd give him more time but his ego is too big a barrier.

It's not going to be announced today. Today the OS will be filled with videos, photos, and comments from the Ledley testimonial and Ledley deserves that. It won't be overshadowed by the news of a managerial sacking.

That's a massive insult to Chrissy!
