Chairman, Daniel Levy, commented,

“We appointed Tim mid-season as someone who knew both the players and the Club.

“We agreed an 18-month contract with a break clause at the end of the season and we have now exercised that option.

“Since appointing Tim as Assistant First Team Coach in 2008 and then as Technical Co-ordinator in 2010 and Head of Football Development in 2012, we have been supportive of him during football management changes throughout that period. On behalf of the Club, I should like to state our thanks for all his efforts during his years with us. We wish him great success in his managerial career.

“Moving forward, now the season is over, we shall embark on the process of finding a new Head Coach. We have a talented squad and exciting young players coming through. We need to build on this season, develop our potential and inspire the kind of performances that we associate with our great Club."

Oh yeah the shit attitude and personality, you his mate? Know him well? LOL at this kind of thing especially.

Fuck sake.
You don't have to know him to see how he comes across in press conferences do you? In those press conferences and his statement and chat all point to a shitty personality.

Good luck to him. Don't think he did too bad, but never good enough for a prolonged stay. However, one thing I must confess is... ....I'm RELIEVED!!!

Eventually, you could smell this happening after Ledley's game - after our 'horrid' season, have one last game to show us all what Spurs is meant to be about (we still got beat ), then go for a new start.

Levy's comments have been great - a break clause? Does that mean Tim has to agree to it too? I'm not sure, but one thing I almost know is that Tim will be sorted financially for a while. And he's right in confirming that we have a great young squad - we can literally make it better too, with the help of a new manager: sell the deadwood, use the funds to buy a left-back, centre back, winger and striker (with maybe a little investment, Oh Great and Powerful One?) and come back next season ready to demolish the league again.

Beat all the small teams (this time include West Ham), actually compete against the big teams, and we'll probably end up with our highest points total yet.

I hope Tim does well elsewhere - if he gets a job in the Championship, his lack of tactics might not matter so much! :ROFLMAO:

win rate agains the terrbile teams, summed up by villa game at weekend. It was his tactics, or lack of, and putting a midfield such as Siggurdsen and Bentaleb in the middle away to Liverpool. Big mouth too wont get him anywhere. Had to go

Good news, but I do feel a bit sorry for Sherwood, even though I really shouldn't. But hey, we have launched his career as a football manager in a much better way than he ever would be able to do by himself.

Now, bring on Frank de Boer or Pochettino as soon as possible!

SkySports is making me sick with this English bollox.

We would have an English manager, if they are good enough.

Why should Spurs get the blame for lack of English managers, surely that is the responsibility of the FA, who as always just live in the dark ages.

Thank you Sherwood.

On the positive, you actually cared about the club and that passion showed, good luck to you in the future.

Good bye.

Are you feeling okay The Green Lily? I was expecting an outpouring of relieved, unrelenting rage :).

In other news, somewhere in the USA, yankspurs is having a "crisis" :).

Was always going to be the case that this happened. For all those worrying about him staying on it was obvious he was only ever caretaker till the end of the season, unless he proved himself to be some wonder coach which really wasn't ever going to happen. Despite everything he gave it a good shot, he was pretty effective in beating (and scoring goals) against the lesser teams. If only he had shown a bit more tactical nous in the trickier games then who knows?...

He was in an impossible position really as caretaker, but I guess its his own fault for having the confidence/ego/ambition to take on the job. Was only ever going to end in tears for him, there was no long term future in it.

I'd like to say the pressure is on Teflon Dan to get the right person in for the job now. Sadly, there is no pressure on him as even if he fucks it up once again, there's nothing that can be done to remove a chairman and major shareholder.

For the record I don't want Levy gone, I want him to get the new stadium sorted and grow us as a club. I'm not sure how sacking managers every couple of years does that.

Anyway, thanks for everything Tim. Good luck and all that.

Maybe a good opportunity to make a donation plea on here. Our traffic has just tripled in the last 10 minutes but we seem to be coping. That's only because of how much people donate towards the server costs :)
Have a tenner dear. ;)
