I think this is more of a reflection of the quality of chances we are creating. In my opinion Soldado comes away quite well, considering the absolute scraps he's feeding off of.

Oh dear Andros!
Shows we need to close the supply line to Remy tomorrow, whilst keeping an eye on Cabaye & Ben Arfa.

Agreed. It also shows that Andros, albeit very dangerous, needs to reel it in and look to provide for the striker. I do like using inverted wingers but I think we'd be more productive in creating goalscoring opportunities if our wingers played as traditional widemen. Andros can still come in to shoot if he needs to, he has a very good "weak" foot.

Andros's average distance of shot is something like 26 metres, which is frankly fucking ridiculous unless you're Gareth Bale, who's skill at scoring from something like 26 metres was frankly fucking ridiculous.

Paulinho needs a break too, loads and loads of shots, one league goal.

So: Andros, pass to Soldado or Paulinho and we'll be scoring plenty soon

Or just give it to LAMELA! And we'll be good, yeah?

Andros needs a stint on the left to get a bit of team work back into his game, and a better balance for Soldado.
I posted similar in another thread but when he played for England he toned his shooting down, he knew the outcome of pissing senior players off, which in turn means he knows not to be shot happy, i have a feeling he is being encouraged to shoot but has started to abuse it.

I thought he'd toned it down a bit one week then before I knew it he was back at it.

I can only presume Andre has said to him 'watch these Hulk and Bale videos, this is what I want from you.'
It's daft though because we're so obviously maligning our striker because of it and we seem to be overcompensating on the other flank by playing midfielders who are defensively over disciplined (Lennon- always, Chadli wasn't given his head, so to speak, Sigurdsson) none of which have seemingly been afforded Townsend's freedom.

If it was a plan from day 1 this year, you'd kind of understand but Townsend only got in the team because of Lennon's injury, so it must be a strategy that has evolved because of what Townsend does.

The stats community are laughing their heads of at us overrelying on a guy who shoots from everywhere and never scores, and because of the shackles on the rest of our forward line, we create nothing.

I hope Capoue starts today, and I hope Lamela starts cos both these guys can help massively with our general forward play.

I am not sure what Townsend has done to warrant our game plan being based around him when our striker is crying our for service, what i am seeing at times with AVB is his perseverance with theory rather than what is actually working..
The plus point was the second half against Sheriff, where our middle 3 started to interchange, hopefully a sign that this is a long term goal, we have good options in our AM roles but so far it has been very staid and dull because of how rigid they are set.

Andros - 40 shots; 13 on target; 1 goal
Paulinho - 31 shots; 9 on target; 1 goal
Soldado - 21 shots; 9 on target; 1 goal (+ 3 pens)
Sig - 18 shots; 9 on target; 3 goals
Walker - 9 shots; 3 on target
Chadli - 9 shots; 0 on target
Eriksen - 6 shots; 3 on target

Yep, we're rather shit at shooting.
