I agree but Harry was shocking at integrating his fringe players and in the latter years he did well with youth but we had a very good age group.

I think we are in a similar situation now, got highly rated players but are almost writing them off and waiting for the next generation!
I think that is maybe right; only Stewart was retained as a second year professional, and while we have lots of first year professionals and third year trainees, I will be surprised if more than a handful are kept on. But there seems to be a real buzz around the academy lads coming through.

I shared the opinions of the Derby supporters, on another site. I have a Canadian friend who frequents that site & he said this about Dawkins.....

"Coopsie, Dawkins is that one player that you just want to succeed. Will he do it at Spurs? Who knows. He earned (and I do mean earned) rave reviews in MLS where he was a handful fo defenders to deal with. I think we need better, but I'd love for him to succeed. He has unfortunately had many setbacks in his career and I'm sure most teams believe him to be too old to be considered a prospect. COYS"....

Only those of you who have seen the guy play, can say whether my mate is correct or not. I just figured I'd share what he said about Dawkins in the MLS, because it seems to somewhat back-up what the Derby supporters are now saying about him.

Dawkins with another goal

3rd goal in 9 starts and one appearance from the bench. Going well at this level

Derby fans seem eager to sign him permanently.

They've won 7 in a row now under McLaren. 'Arry needs to buck his ideas up.

The thing is derby aren't spending any money whereas qpr are signing a new plYer every week!

Derby tho shouldn't be near the top 2. Steve is a genius lol
