We all have had a good laugh or rant about Sissoko's beginnings at Spurs but he has really stepped it up lately and been worth his place in this side. He never was and never will be a £30m player but he can still be a useful asset for us.

In the same period Son has dropped out of the team despite being our best forward player earlier this season.

The bigger impact of this has been allowing Eriksen to move back to the left and play his best stuff in some time.

Of course you also have to consider Lamela, Poch said there is no timeline on his return from a hip injury which is worrying, had he been fit it would most likely be him on the right and Eriksen on the left.

I feel like Sissoko has been given a run of games where the opposition is not as tough, and we have a more difficult schedule in January where he could drop out and Son come back in.

prefer son myself sissoko is fast but his touch is abysmal! Possibly he will improve with time but I always thought he played through the middle where as poch plays him on the right just doesn't seem a fit for right mid/attack

The South Korean man all the way for me.. Sissoko has definitely stepped up but I feel like Sonny works his little arse off every time he steps on that pitch, you can see he's proud to wear the shirt and puts in the work rate to prove it.

Son is more of a goal threat so I would probably say him, although I'e been impressed with Sissoko's contribution in the last few games.

Problem is, Son's touch is also pub league stuff.

Different styles of players for different situations. It's almost as though we have added players that offer multiple tactical and selection options dependent on the opposition...

I rate son pretty highly myself but he has had a few situations where his touch has let him down one was in the champions league cant remember who it was against now he was through on goal and cocked it up! Still think hes more reliable than sissoko and I was pleased when we signed sissoko, gotta say though they aren't totally comparable as son is sposed to be a striker!

They arent comparable at all. Offer different things. Son's a direct player who is best on the wings and coming inside. Sissoko is best on the wings using his body to get by defenders. Both are useful. But both have horrendous touches that routinely let them down. For that reason, I think they would both be more effective coming off the bench and going at a tired team when they can use their strengths more. Which is why i think Lamela will easily start on the right when he returns. His vision, his work rate and his attitude are unmatched.

It depends entirely on who we're playing against and also who the rest of the players in our side are.

ATM I wouldn't start Son, Alli and Eriksen together in the three behind Kane because I just didn't think it worked during our rough patch in October/November. Son and Alli in particular are a bit too much of the same, capable of moments both of brilliance and despair within the space of five minutes, and I've always felt that we can only really play one of them at a time without it compromising the team to an extent.

Sissoko offers a completely different option and has since Poch's words about him in the media played very well. We need that option, the pacy powerhouse, if we are to succeed in the long run.

Like Robbie Keane in his last season for us, Son works hard to be involved all over the pitch, but his touch is so poor that a lot of moves end as soon as they reach him. If we could keep him away from the ball until he has a shooting chance, he'd be more effective. Sissoko has a better all round game, and looks like he could learn to cover the full back position as well, which Son doesn't seem to understand at all. Different players though, but both have a bit of pace, and we can accommodate Son on the left and Sissoko on the right.

I'd ditch them both in a heartbeat if we could buy better. Perhaps Edwards can step up? Onomah hasn't shown anything in their positions so far.

I like the way Sissoko wore out Soton with his physicality and then Son came on maximising his speed advantage against a tiring opposition.

Sissoko clearly offers something very different in that front 4 that none of the others do - power and pace, though I think we lose a little bit of clever and intricate passing play as the expense.

However, I think this works as we often overplay the ball in the final third when actually a more decisive pass or direct run may have yielded a better chance than our slower build up play.

It's a shame Son has fallen out as his finishing is brilliant, he is two footed and adds some trickery to our attack on the flanks but there are games where he just doesn't seem effective and instead runs around like a headless chicken.

These are the kind of "headaches" managers enjoy having, I guess.

I've been impressed with Sissoko recently and I wouldn't exactly be annoyed to see him start over Son but Son has goals in him where Sissoko doesn't seem to.

I really don't think Sissoko would have got a goal against Saints if he stayed on the pitch to be honest but Son showed that he really knows where the back of the net is and that's the difference I guess.

Sissoko may not have scored, but he got an assist and put Alli through for the penalty, as well as picking out forward passes quicker than most of our other midfielders would. He's also better than Son defensively. Currently, I would start Sissoko and use Son as an impact sub.

Once Lamela is back, Poch will have a real selection headache for the three AMs.

I think Son's a cracking little footballer. It's easy to see why Klopp was after him at Dortmund and he would probably have signed him at Liverpool if we hadn't already of got him. We haven't seen nearly the best of him yet.

Yeah that's a very fair assessment and probably why I wouldn't mind if he did start over Son. Also like you say Son as an impact sub may end up being more beneficial than if he is to start. Can't wait until we have Lamela to add to the mix as well, our team will look great but also our subs bench will be looking very strong too!
