Sol Campbell is a Conservative candidate for Mayor of London.

Apparently Sherwood was interviewed by the Tories, but decided to hold out for New York.

Should be entertaining.

Speaking to The Guardian last year he said: “I have got so much to offer. I think it is very important for the black vote. If the ‘black vote’ votes it will clearly push someone over the line. I am for getting people from my background to vote.”

So if he doesn't get a role, it's "because he's black" and that's a bad thing. He is, however, happy to get a role "because he's black", and that would apparently not be a bad thing....
