I was somewhat indifferent to Sol Campbell, putting down the past to him just doing what idiot footballers do, and read this interview as if it were Any Player, but now I dislike him simply because he comes across as an utterly charmless man, entirely lacking in self awareness and humility. One to avoid at social gatherings.

Nobody deep down and in their right mind who loves the club and watched that shite week in week out with some games literally watching Rsol v The Opposition will argue that he wasn't completely within his rights to move on for his career and to try and win some trophies because we were pretty pathetic.....

IT IS THE WAY HE WENT ABOUT THE WHOLE SITUATION

Whether or not it was 100% his doing or he was also very badly advised by his scumbag agent Sky Andrews I'm not sure about but I would definitely say that the pair of them are ****s, both rolling in money now no doubt but a couple of ****s none the less

"He's really not a very nice person" were the exact words of a relative of mine who knew him personally and was a regular visitor at his home.

I should add that this was prior to Campbell leaving Spurs.

Playing for Portsmouth, Notts County and then tipping off his career at Newcastle? I'm sure everyone at the club was shocked when they saw the list of prestigious clubs he went on to play for. Why is this guy even getting a thread made about him, he's irrelevant in the football world.

I do hope he watched Ledley's testimonial and it hit him that he would never have anything like that done for him or get that kind of reception. Even Arsenal fans don't like him that much and would certainly not sell out the Emirates for him.

I wondered at the time why Sugar didn't have a go at him.
On the one hand, he cleaned his car with Klinsmann's shirt when he felt the player had privately misled him.
On the other, Campbell told the world that he was renewing at the end of the season and then effectively walked away with £20m. To arsenal. And Sugar said nothing.

Of course by then Sugar had sold his majority interest in the club and Levy took the hit.
I'm not saying Sugar encouraged the lies, but he certainly benefited from the deceit.

Nothing would surprise me and if it served Sugars own self interest at the time then it's just business as far as he is concerned. I doubt Sugar has many more morals than Rsol

He's a fool. An entertainer in the vain of David Brent in my view. He's an absolute arse.
