Korea Republic and Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min has been named the AFC Asian International Player of the Year after a spectacular year for both his club and country.
Son's success marks the second time the 25-year-old has won the award, following his recognition in 2015 when he fended off the challenge of compatriot Ki Sung-yeung and 2015 AFC Asian Cup MVP Massimo Luongo to land the accolade.
Anyway congrats to Son. It's a decent award to win.
Unfortunately people don't really care about AFC awards.... Their "player of the year" award is a joke because one condition for winning the award is u must be present at the dinner to receive the award. So they will go through a list of names till one agrees to attend and receive the award.
Thankfully it isn't the case of the international player of the year.
