More unfair on Son though surely as he played as a striker less than Berahino yet still managed an identical scoring rate (better if you take off Berahno's penalties).

Surely what we want is a player who is a good wide attacker but who can play up front when needed, as we have Kane who will be first choice.
Plays for a much more dominant team in their league, who play higher up the pitch and commit more men forward - sometimes suicidally so in the last few seasons.

Berahino's scoring rate for a very poor, defensive West Brom is very impressive whichever way you cut it.

This would be our best outfield signing since Van Der Vaart, I'm already at the point that it would crush me if it doesn't happen, I'm a lost cause.

So is Son going to be happy moving to a team that doesn't play CL football, considering he's coming from a club that's just qualified for the CL. I know the coach has said he's leaving but I wonder if their qualification makes him change his mind.

I've been wanting to see this guy in a Spurs shirt for a couple of seasons now, so I'm really happy about the link. I just hope we don't get gazumped trying to sign him. There's still a couple like United and Arsenal who could yet be in for another forward.

@Locke6: @jetsetyid how's the berahino deal coming along. Hopeful? Son or Berahino or both?

@jetsetyid: @Locke6 both

How I feel after this:

JJ on the right

Levy on the left...

I'm shocked at this news. I thought Levy would have had his fill of untried overseas players after Bob, Paul & Llama. Surely this is just a Berahino bargaining chip?

The German league is the closest in style to the EPL that there is. It's not slow paced like Italy, France or Spain.

It's not a guarantee of success, but it's as good a marker as you will find.

Much Wonga is tied to this chap via LG. Would not harm our chances of having LG on our shirt or the LG stadium? if they are that size?

Nice one Heung-Min, nice one Son, nice one Heung-Min, we'll have another one...

I think I'm getting ahead of myself.

Berahino and Son would completely transform our attack.

I still don't quite believe it all, but it sounds incredible and I want to have these feels.

But that is pretty much how we play so perfect fit. We are the 2nd or 3rd most ball dominant team last year I think, and we play high line high up the pitch, or are trying to. Also sometimes suicidally.

And West Brom play to Berahino's strengths, using his pace on the break. That's one of my issues, I don't think he's the type of player suited to the type of games we have, especially at home where opponents sit back and condense space in the final third, he isn't clever or tricky, he can do people for pace (or a shift and shoot) but as we've seen a gizzilion times with the likes of Lennon, Defoe and Townsend, that becomes pretty moribund when there are 18 bodies condensed into the final 30 yards of pitch.

Son as 1st CF backup - no thanks
Son as Lamela's replacement, plus another striker as 1st CF backup, and Son/Njie as next alternatives - oh yes please.

Son, Berahino and a CM in
Fazio, Lamela, Lennon and Ade out
That'll do nicely.

He isn't clever or tricky? I'm assuming you are referring to Berahino? Sorry to have to ask, but how much of him have you seen?
