Whats your thoughts on him Lufti

Don't think so. He only cost just under £10m from HSV to Leverkusen, a sale to a domestic rival, and his value hasn't more than doubled in that time imo. Besides, German teams never recoup that much money from sales abroad. If it were true, we could get him for about £15-18m imo. He's quite overrated though, he's a player who produces moments rather than consistently performing well, the sort of thing Eriksen gets criticised for, although he's more direct than him.

Edit: Before I get blasted for that, he's still very good, just not quite as incredible as people seem to think
If you'd like some reassurances, I think Son would actually be a better fit for us than Leverkusen. The PL places more priority on the physical accepts of the game than the Bundesliga does, and although Son is very two footed, he's not incredible technically which you need to be for the Bundesliga. I think his pace and directness will go a long way here, he strikes me as a PL style player for sure.
Cheaper yes, comparable in a way because Son started as a striker but ended up being used on the wing. Different styles though, Berahino is a better finisher who runs in behind more, Son is more likely to run from deep and prefers a long shot. Son is probably quicker too, not much in it though. IF there was any truth in this, I don't think it would be an alternative to Berahino.

I can't remember what page but someone here posted the views of a Leverkusen season ticket holder which is probably worth checking out. Also someone who follows Asian football did a nice piece, sorry I can't be bothered to look for those :p

Re: my second quote, he's got a very good shot so in that sense he's good technically, but he's not great at getting involved in the build up play and creating chances for others. He's a bit of a Walcott/Townsend/Remy or whoever style player

I wasn't worried, but to be honest having read that I am now worried! The loopholes are win a prestigious medal or upset everyone back home by getting some residency permit in another country. He has until 28, according to that link, whereas I thought it was 35. Anyway I am sure it will all work out.

It's 5 years away. I really wouldn't worry about it. Either he turns out to be a bit turd, in which case we'll offload him in a year like we do most of our signings. Or he's shit hot, in which case we'll end up selling him for a huge profit.

I find myself wanting to sign him just so I can shout "fucking go on my Son" from the East stand lower as he tears past me and then inevitably falls over just as he's about to shoot.

Burning question: is that your finger/thumb or a lucky stock photo model's? Those be some dang fine manicured nails.
And isn't he 23?
Yes, that is my beautiful finger. I took that photo 3 years ago when I was developing the sky sports scouting app and trying my hand heuheuheuh in hand modelling.

There is also a large Korean community in London, not to mention the hundreds of thousands of Asian tourists that visit the capital each year. Won't do any harm to get them on board before the new stadium is open. This deal makes sense on so many levels, but best of all he is a very good footballer.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. I do like this signing very much and I feel we will benefit from having him, but I cannot hide that that number feels a bit steep. Even the Leverkusen fans think that. Levy must have done the due dilligence and know the commercial windfall will complete cover the extra we paid and more.

The German league is the closest to ours in terms of playing style, far more people have adapted to Prem from Bundesliga than La Liga

Am sure he will do fine

Actually the french league is the one closest to ours, it's higher the percentage of french league players that adapted to the EPL than any other league. But yes, the transition from bundesliga is easier than from the spanish league.

He'll do fine anyway

At least we will have him for 5 years :)

While military service for soccer players is better than standing on snow-covered mountains facing the border with North Korea (you can, after all, play for the army team, Sangju Sangmu)

So ... training camp for Sangju Sangmu at Hotspur way, and an exhebition match in Seoul then perhaps he'd be let off with those 4 weeks of basic training?

Without wanting to add to the stereotypical theme in this thread but I find it hard to believe that there aren't any photographs of him in England at the moment?

Why?

Also - a couple twitter follows (AdamOsper and JaiP72) that from time to time have some ITK have both confirmed that this one is pretty much done.
