Tottenham Hotspur's Son Heung-min was not included on the shortlist for the Professional Footballers’ Association's Player of the Year award on Wednesday despite winning the Premier League Golden Boot with 23 goals throughout the 2021-22 campaign.

Beggars belief, how can Ronaldo even be considered over Son?

Shocking omission, based on what criteria?

Strange decision. In fact, forget any Spurs bias, it's a damn right ridiculous call.

Same amount of goals as Salah in the league, without taking penalties.

Equalled Salah's goals with less shots also given that Salah topped the list for most shots in the league.

Of course, lots of different elements I'm sure they all look at, but look at his assists also.

It's ridiculous he's not even included on the shortlist.

Just crazy... very simple. Not even a nomination ??? ... I hope Son uses this as motivation for next season. The PFA should be ashamed.

It never changes, these awards always go to the so called "top" teams. The Ballon D'or for years always went to either Messi or Ronaldo and as great as they were there were other players in certain years that deserved it more. Didn't Messi win it last year when he was no where near his form of old. The awards given by the sports writers just about shows how little they know about football and not worth giving a second glance to what they write.

It's one thing for the media hacks to be ignorant, but the players are supposed to be the ones who really know who's producing. Although teams only face each other twice a season (or 3 or 4 times if they get drawn together in the cups), players surely have mates on other teams, so they'll hear through the grapevine who's really in form.

For logistics, the PFA players awards are asked earlier then when the writers are asked for thier nominees. You got to get views in from players of the 20 clubs. Most players are influenced by the matches they played in and also the the same media we all consume. They will see and read about the biggest clubs most often then others.

I'll always take the Writers awards more seriously as a result.

Strange how Kane is on the shortlist but not Son. I think most people you speak to will agree that Son has been much better this season.

If he was English and the national captain, he'd be on the list without a doubt. Should be there over 3-4 of the players selected...including Harry.

Well I can sort of see why Kane was on it I mean he should probably have won it off the back of the season prior but given when players are asked to pick it was probably around that spell where Harry was in outrageous form (before Ashley Young tried to fuck his ankles up and then Brighton's keeper landing on them a game or two later)

Regardless I do agree it's not Harry that should be on that list from Spurs if we're looking at an entire season but then if that's the case there's a few on the list that shouldn't be there over Kane either IYSWIM.

I just looked and I'm amazed that Kane has never won either PFA or FWA which I find a bit baffling (especially last season)
