Soton away

Heading over to the UK from Australia later this month to watch the lads before they knock down the Lane. First game I'm going to is Soton away; in the away end.

Absolutely buzzing for it, but unsure what to expect. Does anyone know where people are drinking before hand/after, where to find a cheap room for the night near St Mary's etc.

I don't know the best football pubs, but I'd recommend the Shooting star or the Hobbit for some drinks beforehand, it's about a 20 minute walk from the stadium, though they're quite studenty so might be quiet over Christmas. Bedford place is another decent part of town for drinks & is a similar distance from the stadium.

If you want cheap cheap accommodation, try airbnb, or maybe try the Travelodge in Eastleigh which is a short train ride from Southampton. There's plenty of hotels in Southampton centre but they'll probably raise their prices for game days.

Been down to Southampton a few times and going again this year, just head for the centre and you will see spurs fans in all pubs. Going to be a boozy one as its a late KO and majority of people being off work.

I'll be over for the first time from the US. How did you get tickets in the away end or does anyone have any recommendations?

Don't stay in Southampton.. Stay in London and just travel there and back.
