Maybe, just maybe, those of us who thought the problems were with the squad had a point?
Maybe, just maybe, those of us who thought the extension for Toby and the possibility of more to follow (JV, CE, ED) now that Poch has gone, were right to feel that was NOT what we needed.
Jose isn't a miracle worker and deserves time but he also needs to make tough decisions.
A transition is past due.

So how long do we think Ndombele will be out for?

Frustratingly he had 3 tackles against him and each time he came out of it grimacing and holding something. If you play CM in this league you'll get this every game and some more. If i was the opposition manager, i demand my CMs go in on Ndombele early in the game because currently he is mentally so fragile and seems to hate being tackled.

Such a mess the balance of this team. It's really horrible to watch. The CM, Sanchez not a the back and playing two up top is woeful.

Feels to me like the squad has not been rotated properly over the festive period. Not sure that playing two geriatric CBs four games in ten days was the best idea, nor playing Ndombele who very clearly was still working his way back from the groin injury twice in 48 hours. Jose treats the players like machines, it does not bode well for our aging squad.

we need to get away from this obsessive need to spend

We should always be looking to improve, especially when there is massive need for it, until winning is our priority our coaches can only do so much with their hands tied. You reap what you sow, reality is we're still paying for Baldricks dodgy electricians and his brave summer of 2018, anyone that can't see that I can't help them. Anyone that's been watching our games our downturn started 2018-2019 season.

Early goal in second half and we can go and win this. So important with Chelski dropping points and us have pool next. COYS.
By the way why was the trip on Alli in box not referred to VAR? Surely it was a pen.

This is the attitude that gives players the excuses they need to underperform. they need to toughen up mentally.

Not sure Lucas, Sessegnon or Lo Celso are doing too much wrong the way the team is set up. They’re trying to push us forward and produce chances for Kane and Dele but Dele’s trying to be too clever and Southampton are extremely well drilled and organised defensively, stifling us the final third and preventing us from getting any shots off. Even if we try shooting long range there are too many of them getting back.

We need to pull them about more and create spaces but to do that our passing needs to be much, much better. And because that’s been so shit no one is making any runs. Eriksen therefore looks bang average as a result too.

The team set up needs to change - need to be cleverer to take some control of this game because Southampton are bossing it at the moment.

Sess has looked lost, I thought Jose said his not a full back anyway?
Problem is we got nothing else with Roses form having dropped off a cliff, Davies injured and Jan not capable of playing game after game at LB

Where to start?

We’re mostly shit at long ball

Moura is infuriatingly disappointing

Ndombele is worrying- another injury

Why bother with the Dane?

Lo Celso needs lots of minutes- he could be amazing but clearly needs to adapt to the pace of the league

Sessegnon is doing ok

If we’re buying a centre back this window, it really needs to happen quick

I’ve got a feeling Dele is going to score

Just out of interest, what makes you think Lo Celso could be amazing? He showed a few glimpses at home to Brighton, but virtually every time I see him it looks like all the opposition need to do is show him on his right foot and job done.

Btw, I’m not saying he’s useless or a waste a money. Just saying I’ve seen nothing to excite me yet.

At least with N’Dombele I have seen a lot to get excited about if he can just stay fit.
