I was reading an old magazine last night and i came across an article about team building by various successful coaches. What struck me was their opinions on the make up of the spine of great teams. There were 2 opinions which stuck out by the men in the know. 1st option was a great goalkeepr, centre back, midfield schemer and striker. 2nd option was a great goalkeeper, centre back, defensive midfielder and striker. With the inclusion of a great goal keeper and defensive midfielder spurs have this spine with woody, king, modric, keane and berbatov (if he stays, always hope). If we address these 2 positions surely we are nearing becoming a challenger, especially with Ramos and the change in attitude he has already brought in. There was also an interview with juande when he was still at sevilla and he what he had to say filled me with optimism with the direction he takes when building a team.
Any thoughts?
Oh and also in the interview with Ramos he said that the most important position in the team is the goalkeeper, he sets the tone for the rest of the team. So look forward to a machine between the sticks next season lads
