After going through all the emotions, Mauricio Pochettino’s overriding feeling was one of pride in the players after it finished 2-2 against Arsenal at the Lane on Saturday.

Going on the defensive and trying to see a game out just isn't in our remit. We backed off and they took full advantage. We were doing far better containing anything they had when we were continually in their half. Poor tactics for this one I'm afraid.

I appreciate all teams have bad days but 5 points lost out of six is not title winning form. We've missed a massive opportunity to overtake Leicester and its now theirs to lose especially when we have Europe to contend with. Very happy with the teams performance this year but I think we'll end the season wondering what if again......

I'm torn on this one. I don't think Poch got a whole lot wrong but was outmanaged by Wenger in game particularly when Arse went down to 10. He made brave attacking substitutions, treating it like a must win cup tie. We weren't clever enough in the face of that to make our numerical advantage count.

And while I can see why you'd theoretically bring Son on, he's too soft for me when it comes to really getting stuck in to the fight.

And maybe the massive hail storm didn't help concentration. Who knows.

At any rate, it feels like we should have got 6 points from those league games rather than 2. Putting emotions aside, I can accept that not losing to a title rival isn't terrible.

But... HOW THE **** DID WE LOSE TO NEWCASTLE???

That my friends is the question that haunts me.

Because from time to time things do click for Newcastle, and unfortunately for us it did against us. It could be that the players thought that Newcastle were crap. It was at the beginning of the season. I wanted not to lose the last two games and we only lost one. Given that no one expected us to be in this position, I think we're doing pretty well.

Poch didn't really know what to do, when Wenger went gung-ho, did he?

Sit back and they had enough attacking talent to pick us off. Go,toe to toe, turn it into a basketball match didn't appeal either.

Truth is, if we'd just played better in their last third we would have done them, but final, ball was poor, and rose Eriksen and Alli were the culprits.
Our subs made no impact, only to disrupt any rhythm we had.

I want them to fail, but not too dismally, so Wenger is still around next year.

So many IFs. Ospina had a great game as we all knew he would. The goal line technology we all begged for after the Mendes 'almost goal', finally came back to bite us. Knowing our luck the linesman wouldn't have given it anyway. I think it was a game too soon for Alli and Dembele, as they were short of match fitness. I can even see why Poch brought on Mason, but it didn't have the required affect because they played around the midfield because we lost the width. We didn't lose, which we could so easily have done. We just have to try and work hard and make up for it in the next few games.
If Leicester end up winning, it will be down to hard work and I won't complain because over the season, they deserve it. I want us to win it, but I will still be happy with 2nd. I think we all would be if we were told at the start that's where we would end up!

I what you're saying about Leicester, but where the hell did they come from this season?! Can't help but think that this will be our only realistic chance of winning the league, and we might end up coming second to bloody Leicester?! Really?! Out of all the massive clubs at the top, what were the chances of that serial Championship side raining on our parade like this?! Unbelievable really.

After a run of 6 from 6 in the EPL. We faced west ham, away in their last game under lights on a heavy track after flogging them in the round 1 fixture. We then played the Arse after they had been pillared by their own supporters for letting their title bid "slip away"

In the age of the 24 hr news cycle a day is an age. There is still so much to play for this season with 9 games to go. Let alone the Europa League.

Every time these guys have pulled on the mighty Lilywhite this season they have given 110%. I'm sure come the end of the season wherever we find ourselves I for one will be proud of the effort put in to get there.

More often than not that effort has been good enough. We are still coming 2nd last time I looked.

Arsenal always looked like they could score when they were near our goal....why? because they have a few players who are 'game-changers' i.e. Ramsey and Sanchez, Spurs have some very good players, but not quite in the same class as those two.
Also, let's give the Arse some credit; they came to our place, played hard and got stuck in. It paid off.

This is my worry. There is almost an underlying assumption that if we don't win the league then we should be able to bag 2nd or even 3rd place. I still don't see a top 4 finish as guaranteed as the other teams aren't that far behind and we have some tricky games in the run in (Liverpool, United, Chelsea). We need to get out of the EL now so we can have a good punt at winning the league or worst case tying up 2nd or 3rd which are seriously under threat in my opinion.

Mahrez and Vardy. They've both had the season of their lives and with Chelsea, Man Utd and a few others having such poor form, they've come under the radar. Being Leicester, quite a few clubs probably underestimated them. Most clubs see us as a challenge and try harder. They've also had a big chunk of luck with injuries. There has been lots of factors, but they have just been more consistent than anyone else. That's what it all comes down to in the end.

Some people should read this post over and over again, because it is bang on the money. Out of eight games, we won six, lost one and drew one.

Completely agree. Also, people are getting ahead of themselves. We've got the worst run-in out of the top 4 (& Man U) and it could go any which way. We need to be challenging for 1st just to get into the top four. I love the idea we might get a PL title, but it is way too early to start buying the hype that is is nearly nailed on which the media have been heaping on so they can do their 'build them up and knock them down' routine.

After the busy schedule over the last 2 weeks i'm not suprised with the last 2 results. The pikeys wanted revenge and the goons new a loss would probably end any title hopes for them.

Personally the draw with the goons is more disappointing than the previous loss, but guaranteed the other teams in the top 6 are going to lose pts.

Would've been nice to have a 6pt gap between us and 3rd, but as the saying goes "it's not over till the fat lady sings".

I think a lot of fans have got a bit carried away with the talk about the title (myself included) but truthfully, a finish in the top 3 and i'm more than happy.

It is not as easy to say we won't win the league because we play x, y or z as our schedule and run need to be compared like for like with the other teams in the hunt for the Top 4.

Take a look at the list below. Some observations:

Leicester have points in the bag, but three tough games to finish the season. They will not get 9 points from those games.

Arsenal and Man City have the easiest schedule as both teams can be flat track bullies and will pick up points. Their game with each other will have a huge impact on their respective final positions.

Man Utd's next three scheduled league games are tough and will be must win due to the likes of Spurs hopefully have picked up points. They will have two rescheduled games which will also be must win.

West Ham have the toughest run in of the teams currently in the top six.

Not an exact science, but good for comparative purposes.

In all honesty, and perhaps I have been a Spurs fan too long, I would close out now for a top 4 finish. I know; shoot me. But I just can't see us winning it with our run in; but if we get top 4 then the squad stays together; CL football brings in talent and helps pay for the stadium; Poch stays and we go again next season. Fall apart now and drop out of the top 4, and the whole thing unravels (again).

Newcastle were good that day. They've been poor most of the season but at the Lane they played well and we looked tired. Derbies are often crazy games, I thought we'd done it after Kane scored but I was praying for the half time whistle because we'd lost our way and I could see us going in two down.

Arsenal advancing in the cup now means their game with WBA gets rescheduled.

We have a chance to go 6 points clear of them, 7 when GD is factored in by beating Aston Villa on Sunday.

The nerves will be jangling again this weekend.
