Let's fast forward a few years... What team will we be able to field from our players that are currently 25 or under?

Walker.....Caulker.....Khumalo.....Naughton

Kaboul

Lennon..........................................Bale

Townsend

Kane.......M'Poku

I'm sure everyone could pick lots of holes and poor assumptions in that line up (Naughton prefers playing at RB for instance), and it's by no means guaranteed that all of those players will continue to develop as they have so far.

I've also missed out Sandro, I've turned Kaboom into a DF (which I think could be his best position eventually), and I've just realised that I've forgotten about Tommy H, who's only just 24!

But that's not the point. It's not intended as an empirical piece of science or a serious suggestion for a line-up. It's an illustration, that's all.

And what an illustration! At least a few of those players are destined to play internationally IMO. People outside of Spurs are already starting to recognise the talents of Walker, Caulker and Townsend. The Leicester fans are pretty keen on Naughton. Harry Kane is the messiah, but M'Poku is also beginning to show just why we bought him.

Lennon, Bale, Kaboul, Huddlestone and several other current 1st team squad members are young enough to be around for a long while. Michael Dawson's only just turned 27, and as a CB could well remain 1st choice and our on-field captain for another 6 years.

We've got young talent and potential in every position. Our success will not be fleeting. Tottenham's revival is here to stay.

The futures's bright - the future's lilywhite.

Townsend behind the striker? M'poku as a front man? God I hope you are not the manger then my line up

Button
Walker Caulker Kaboul Bassong
Lennon Huddlestone Sandro Bale
Mason
Kane

This still will never work but, Kane for starters likes to play the Mason role as well. LB will be a problem area, so will goalkeeper.

Did you just look at the line up and not bother to actually read the post or what?

I'm surprised you didn't squeeze Kane in twice there, Rax:grin:

He's gonna be the most important English striker since Shearer, mark my words!

I tipped Shearer for England captaincy when he was 20 too. My mates pissed themselves laughing at the time. *smug*

I did, I was just taking the piss a little!

The future is bright we all know that, but it is highly unpredictable, like you suggest. We have to waitt and see what the future holds. Redknapp could leave for the England job and the whole thing could crumble. I look forward to look at what our youngsters will achieve, and will keep an eye on them throught their footballing life. But football is unpredictable, the greatest place to be from a spurs fans prospective is right now
