After a tricky start it was a decent night. Alli was excellent. Son off the mark early, great for his confidence. Looking forward to watching the boys in Monaco

Son + Ali looked great. Mediocrity from everybody else. Really need to step it up.
Fan support was lacking last night. I know its not the biggest game, but the ground was silent for the majority of the match, apart from one end. Need to get behind the team with open lungs. COYS

I think the support is less vocal these days because the football for the most part is fairly boring to watch, except for the odd moment here and there. Hopefully things will improve with time, but it surprises me that we are still so slow to build attacks and take so many touches.

I agree, the attacks are slow and predictable. When the crowd know what's going to happen before it happens then that does take away some enjoyment. I didn't think the atmosphere was too bad last night though considering the turnout / opposition.

Alli and Son stood out, but so did Tom Carroll for me, thought he had a really good game.
If Dier and Mason are not ready for Sunday I'm happy with Carroll and Alli in midfield.

My thoughts from the game:
Alli, Dier, Wimmer, Toby, Winks, Kane all look so comfortable with the ball. They all stood up tall and calmly looked for a player every time. Alli looking like the player we have needed/wanted for a long time - hopefully he continues to develop and press his stamp on the games.
Son and Carroll looked energetic all game, constantly looking for the ball and trying to make things happen. Son wanted to take players on and plays with great desire which is always good to see.
Clinton didn't really get too much of a chance to show, which isn't a surprise given he's new to the club etc and been injured since arriving so i'll hold back on him.
Trippier and Rose, not the best game they will play. Rose in particular made mistakes that should have been punished and Trippier was caught out of position a few times. Neither were convincing but that may be down to the complete change in squad and balance meaning there was no common understanding across the back 4.
Lamela and Townsend. I know people will have different views on here but for me, neither of these players benefit the team. Townsend did what he often does and just ran down blind alleys and then panic and just swing a leg or run into a defender. Can we carry a player that has the threat of a threat but actually rarely creates any opportunities? Lamela on the other hand was horrible to watch. He genuinely looked out of his depth against a team many had never heard of. I lost count of the number of times that he passed to the opposition or just ran into them leaving the ball behind. He was missing 2 yard passes and making some bizarre decisions in his runs. Maybe he was trying too hard but for me he is not good enough to be in our starting 11. Son and Alli tried tricks as much as he did but most of their efforts came off where as Lamela just looked like a broken show pony. My first point about the players looking comfortable is a key one in my opinion. I would rather a team of 11 players that looked at ease with the ball than a few "flair" players who look completely on edge every time they get possession.
Just my opinions but i think Poch should look to remove all players from the squad who cannot put their foot on the ball, look up and make a smart decision (and that can be done in super quick time if you are concentrating throughout the game). They are the qualities you think of when you look back over the years, more recently Modric, Bale, VDV. When they got the ball the whole team, and crowd, knew that possession was safe and we'd be controlling the ball. When it falls to an Atouba, Townsend, Walker etc everyone is hoping something good comes of it rather than expecting.
As for the crowd, I was in the South so it was pretty noisy considering the number of blue seats on show. I agree that the football Poch plays means the ball travels from side to side more than up and down, which isn't the most thrilling to watch but despite what we think, we are never that noisy at home unless its against teams we fear/hate. It has been that way for as long as i can remember to be honest. Next Wednesday night will be very different!

I'm impressed by Son. Despite being new to the club, the country, and no doubt speaks little English, he has the innate ability to reach an understanding with his teammates. In last night's game, he linked up very well with Alli and even Lamela (who doesn't have that ability). He is a cultured player rather than a robust one, and as such doesn't challenge for the ball aggressively. He also seemed to tire after the hour mark. That no doubt will be overcome after a few of Poch's famous boot-camp training sessions.

This is broadly fair. I'd add Wimmer and Carroll as plus points. The rest only showed flashes, Lamela in particular.
