2007/08 saw you bring a new manager and some silverware to White Hart Lane – which of these was least expected back in August?
The new manager. Regardless of the board's doubts about Jol, 99% of the fans were behind him and thought all was well in the dressing room.
Is Ramos the man to take Spurs forward? What are your opinions on the 6 months or so he’s had so far? Is it too early to tell?
Too early to tell. The team we put out on Sunday will be so different to the team that starts in August, so really we have to start judging him from then on. But winning a trophy already means the fans will prob give him longer to prove himself than other bosses would get.
What’ve been the three highlights of your season?
Beating Chelsea at Wembley, beating Arsenal 5-1 and... erm... possibly putting four past West Ham.
And the lows?
The league season as a whole has been disappointing (although our season effectively ended when we won the Carling Cup. Going out of the Uefa Cup on pens was a kick in the balls cos we played so well that night in Eindhoven. The whole way in which the 'Jol out and Ramos in' was handled. Nobody came out of it well, it damaged the team and Martin Jol deserved better treatment than that.
The Adebayor song has proved controversial – what’s your opinion?
You should try looking at the very long thread about that from a couple of months ago. In short, I've got no problem with it but the fans as a whole are pretty divided over it.
Getting on to our game – do you really care? Is the ‘Benidorm’ factor hitting the fans as well as the players, as there’s nothing to fight for?
At the last home game against Bolton there was a real sense of 'who cares?' around the ground. But after we played well last week, and the fact that it will be some players' last game for us, I think the fans will really want to go out on a high just to give us cause for optimism for next season - its hard to get too excited about next season while we don't know what the team is gonna look like.
Seeing what we’re charged as away fans, season tickets at the Lane must be among the most expensive in the land - are Spurs (and football in general) worth the money?
Yeah. Certainly in terms of goals per £. We're sometimes incredibly frustrating, but so are all clubs. Better to be frustrated by a 4-4 draw than a 0-0!
What’re your predictions for our game on Sunday?
1-1 written all over it.
What will you be doing this summer while the footie’s gone?
Waiting for the football to start again and trying to find out as much as possible about the players Juande brings in - cos I doubt I'll have heard of some of them.
Predict a signing (or two) for your side this summer. What areas would you like to see strengthened? Who would you like to get the chop?
We get linked with so many players its difficult to name individuals, but a GK, a replacement for Berba and a new CM will be brought in. Chimbonda can go. I'll be gutted if we let Bent go cos I think he'll come good.
Finally, what’re your hopes for next season? What can you realistically expect?
5th. But if the off-field troubles at your club carry on they may stop you from bringing in the players Rafa wants and you may have another battle on your hands for 4th. Its a battle I think you'd win, but I certainly think you and Arsenal aren't as untouchable as Andy Gray would like us to think, and ultimately if/when the big 4 is broken up, the smart money must be on us being the club who gatecrash the party.
