Spurs female football fan banned from every stadium
A female yob who hurled a bottle at Sunderland striker Darren Bent has been banned from every football stadium in the country.
Spurs fan Emma Dinnes could have sparked disorder, said chairman of the bench Christopher Hutchinson as he handed down the three-year order.
‘The magistrates take a very serious view of your actions,’ he added.
‘You could have injured Mr Bent, or other people, or officials on the football pitch.’
The 20-year-old Spurs fan, from Brentwood, Essex, apologised for the incident.
‘I’m gutted about it, really upset and sorry,’ she said after the hearing.
Dinnes, who has followed Tottenham for four years, pleaded guilty at Sunderland Magistrates’ Court to throwing a missile on to the pitch during the game at the Stadium of Light on Saturday, April 3.
She said she threw the bottle of Dr Pepper but did not mean to hit Mr Bent as he celebrated after scoring Sunderland’s opening goal against his former club.
The striker and Sunderland did not make a formal complaint after their 3-1 win but Dinnes was arrested as police made inquiries.
Magistrates dismissed Dinnes’ claims that she had not intended to hit Bent. (WHY NOT!)
She was also fined £175 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge during Wednesday’s hearing.
