We’ve seen it so many times in football where the grass isn’t always greener, and it looks like Christian Eriksen has found that out at Inter Milan.

Source: Caught offside

selling for €20m and buying back for €40m doesn’t sound like Daniel Levy at all.

Highly doubt it. If he's going to be expensive then only a swap deal for Ndombele makes sense.

Probably very much in the minority, but i'd have Eriksen back all day long. Just think if he came back then he knows exactly how it looks and i think he'd really put the effort in to win people over , imo he's that sort of person.

And of course he slips effortlessly back into a side that knows exactly what he does, and he's exactly what we need.

I mean it ain't gonna happen, but in a window where Will Hughes is being considered, then he would be my choice.

We need to be able to build teams without him. We were so reliant on him and it showed when he fucked us over by phoning it in for the last year. Best not to make the same mistake again, as good as he can be.

£20m* for one of the best players in the Premier League consistently, someone who knows the squad and will sign a long term contract...it's a no brainer surely

*the transfer will be minus what Inter owe us.

Ps imagine him lining up for any other team in the top 6, he improves every team apart from City

Head over heart, it would be a great deal. Net £20m for an absolutely known quantity, still only 28. We always said, or claimed, that there was a contract ready to make him one of the best paid at the club and we saved a fortune over the last few years because he always turned it down. No sense in the documentary that there was any hard feelings at the club around his departure.

Can agree to a point with you, but IF we actually had the option to buy him back and we didn't , how do you feel when the inevitable happens and we drop points in 8-10 matches this season because we can't break down a deep sitting defence.

Massive IF of course but IF he did re-sign, then you know you've got him for 4 or 5 years and why not build another team around him ?

If we can’t break down teams then we’re at a level we should be at. He may well be the difference but it’s too much reliance. We were very lucky with him and injuries but we need several plans to cope with games and too often he was the only one. The drop in form when he was missing for any reason was alarming. Plenty of teams manage without him, we should too. Find the next star.

I'd 100 percent take him back if he actually wanted it
Only people who seem they can really pick pass Is Kane and lamela sometimes.

Lo celso not really creative so far , ndombele by far the best but never plays

We struggled to break down teams that sat deep when Eriksen was playing every game for us. He hasn't shown anything for 2 years that would convince me to have him back and I really don't see him wanting a return anyway - he was 100% committed to leaving just a few months ago.

Him and his agent are idiots, he could have held on for a few more months and had a pick of where to go. I wouldnt have him back as he wanted away. Seems that conte probably didnt even want him.

I would take him - he would try really hard.

Maybe I misheard or misunderstood Mourinho's attitude to him in the Amazon docuzine. I thought he believed he was a level below the best... Or perhaps he just meant with all the contract speculation...

Not a chance. Buy him back, give him a fat new contract and watch him phone it in for a few more years?? We'd all have to be on stupid pills.

Willian (age 32) 3-yr contract @ £11.5m pa = £34.5m

vs

Erisken (age 28) 5-yr contract @ £10m pa = £50m + £20m transfer = £70m

That's assuming we could knock Inter down to £30m or so on the transfer. 5 years of Eriksen at or near his peak against 3 years of Willian's twilight years doesn't seem like bad business. If all sides were happy, if he was fully motivated I'd give it serious thought.

No brainer for me.

As much as I hate the way he pussies out of the slightest whiff of a challenge and as much as i hate the way he downed tools for us.....

I'd have him back. I'm a spurs fan, not an Eriksen fan and he would make our squad much stronger.
