Sarcasm is normally taken literally and jokes are taken way out of context on most forums. I always find that a explanation mark helped to articulate my words slightly. Sometimes I like to use a just so there's no misinterpreting the fact that I'm just taking the piss. Except that I think smilies are a bit crap, so I end up hating my own post. Damn this modern world we live in...
