I have a very good feeling about what this guy is going to do for us. Like MDMA-level good.

Blimey. Our top target has signed before pre-season.

Is baldy taking DMT or something?

I look forward to seeing the guy play :)
Good to see that our bean counter is finally responding to this manager's needs. Levy has done an outstanding job during his tenureship however Mauricio's 5 year plan needs to be backed, 100%, in order for this club to compete at the highest level. Let's hope the other potential signings are confirmed before the pre-season starts.
Credit where credit is due. Well done, Levy!!

Great signing for the club. Hopefully the first major piece in Poch's rebuild this off-season.
Well, it's different now isn't it? We've been CL finalists and we've qualified for the CL four years in succession. We have the manager that most young and exciting players anywhere in Europe would target as the one to improve their careers and we have an appropriate stadium for them to play in.

Either Levy could be a rigid character who continues his previous practices and policies when the circumstances and evidence have changed, or he can be the dynamic head of a model enterprise who has delivered a stadium that's the envy of the world and now wants to fill it with a football team that's the envy of the world.

Why would anyone think he's the first? Nothing about his strategy since 2004 has suggested that. It takes time to turn a moribund club into contenders, especially when the age of international oligarchs buying football clubs for a hobby takes you by surprise. Levy and ENIC want to add value to THFC - it's the central motive for their strategy - and having found the right manager and then finished investing in the stadium, the next stage has to be investing in a team that will increase the value of the brand worldwide.

We still aren't going to buy established stars for £200m, because they aren't what Pochettino wants. But there's been a progression, a succession of club-record transfers, from Lamela to Sissoko to Sanchez to Ndombélé, which indicates that Levy is wiling to pay hard-fought market value, especially for young exciting players whom Pochettino reckons he can improve.

It's all just a distinctive style of good management. As with previous major signings, notably Luka Modric and Dimitar Berbatov, we got it done early, before anyone could blow us out of the water. That is what Levy has form for, not 31 August deals.

Sensible post.

I was told by an Arsenal coach friend of mine that he feels we have signed the next Veira. He is envious.

It was a joke.

Fully agree with what you are saying though.

Wot Jack Clarke (with an 'e') sed.
“Ever since I’ve been growing up, I’ve seen Tottenham playing in the Premier League, they’ve always been there or thereabouts, pushing, being a top side. It’s one of the biggest clubs in England, if not the world, and I’m just delighted to be a part of it.”

“Obviously (Mauricio) is one of the best coaches in the world, a top, top manager,” . “It’s a top, top stadium.“This is such a big club. Watching the team in the Champions League last season and seeing how well they did, then with the training ground, the facilities and obviously the bunch of players that are here… they’re top players and I’m looking forward to getting to play with them and train with them.

I feel like this club could really help me push on as a player and I don’t think I could be in a better environment.
