It's got nothing to do with the guy's pedigree. The fact is that he is another player we might get who has no EPL experience. I don't know whether you've been paying attention lately, but that generally hasn't worked out too well for us. Jeez.
Not sure but this reads as though you would never, ever sign any player without EPL experience. Even a multi-cap international on a free transfer. Interesting business model.

If he signs I wish him all the best & will be 110% behind him....but I'm not expecting much in all honesty and would rather more opportunity for Townsend.
It does pose the question that if it's such good business why haven't other clubs of our level and above gone in for him?

crouchie still scored more gials and probably had a better goal scoring ratio

Except for Pav scoring nearly 2 times the amount of goals for us than Crouch did in a similar number of games.

Crouch was and still is an excellent and effective target man, but wasn't exactly a prolific or gifted goalscorer.

Konoplyanka is just the new Leandro Damaio anyway, it'll never happen

Whooooaaaaa...!! What?

Sorry mate, but you're way off with that one. I liked Pav a lot, but how was he ever a better goalscorer than Jermain?

You may have a point with Crouchie though.

If you look at the seasons Pav played.. his goals per minute played was better than Defoe & Crouchie.. yet most of them were as a sub. due to Harry's decisions.... Coopsieyid would have the exact figs.

All footballers looking for transfers should be flown in together on one plane on one day at one time and then managers should bid for them in the equivalent of a lost luggage auction. It could be televised and it would get round the continuous agent/player brinkmanship. The gossip will simply focus on who'll be on the plane. And then it will be done.

They should do the same for women. Would save us alot of money in clubs.

It would be good if they were going round on one of those luggage carousels and the managers were given a big stick with a hook on it.
